Shuttle Positioners Patents (Class 139/155)
  • Patent number: 9022780
Abstract: An apparatus includes a gas burner assembly which includes a gas burner and a gas supply conduit. The gas burner includes a gas supply opening and a substantially cylindrical socket formed on the exterior of the gas burner around the gas supply opening. The gas supply conduit includes an opening at an end and a substantially tubular adjoining section proximate to the opening. The adjoining section is configured to mate with the socket and includes a substantially radial protrusion. The socket includes a substantially radial depression for receiving the protrusion. As the gas supply conduit is connected with the gas burner to establish fluid communication at the gas supply opening, the protrusion is engaged in the depression thereby aligning the adjoining section in a predetermined manner about the socket and restricting rotational movement of the adjoining section about the socket.

Abstract: The invention relates to a shuttle for a weaving machine, of which the shuttle is designed to be alternately transferred from one side of a weave to the other while machine-side guiding elements are constantly intervening, with a left-hand connecting element and a right-hand connecting element for connecting the shuttle to the corresponding transfer element and to a filling (weft) bobbin. The filling bobbin is embodied to be rotationally positively drivable, with a drive that is designed for at least two impingements upon the filling bobbin, namely for either accelerating or for decelerating the dispensing of filling (weft) thread. The invention further relates to a weaving process in which such a shuttle is used.

  • Patent number: 4241765
Abstract: A shuttle-drive arrangement for a weaving loom comprises at least one drive rotor (1) having a helical driving means (5) arranged to co-act with a shuttle-dogging device (23) for driving a shuttle (14) across the loom. The rotor (1) is arranged to be continuously rotated by a drive source (7). And means (8,9,10) are arranged to indicate the rotary position of the rotor and the driving means. When the driving means is located in a given position for driving the shuttle, a coupling mechanism (20,24,23) is arranged to be activated to an operative state for coupling the dogging device (23) to the driving means (5).
