Fly Patents (Class 139/142)
  • Publication number: 20140202578
Abstract: The invention relates to a shuttle for a weaving machine, of which the shuttle is designed to be alternately transferred from one side of a weave to the other while machine-side guiding elements are constantly intervening, with a left-hand connecting element and a right-hand connecting element for connecting the shuttle to the corresponding transfer element and to a filling (weft) bobbin. The filling bobbin is embodied to be rotationally positively drivable, with a drive that is designed for at least two impingements upon the filling bobbin, namely for either accelerating or for decelerating the dispensing of filling (weft) thread. The invention further relates to a weaving process in which such a shuttle is used.

  • Patent number: 6745296
Abstract: Computer systems and methods that provide for cacheable above one megabyte system management random access memory (SMRAM). The systems and methods comprise a central processing unit (CPU) having a processor and a system management interrupt (SMI) dispatcher, a cache coupled to the CPU, and a chipset memory controller that interfaces the CPU to a memory. The memory includes system memory and the system management random access memory. The systems and methods un-cache the SMRAM while operating outside of system management mode, transfer CPU operation to system management mode upon execution of a system management interrupt (SMI), and change cache settings to cache the extended memory and system management random access memory with write-through. The systems and methods then change cache settings to cache the extended memory with write-back and un-cache the SMRAM upon execution of an resume instruction.

  • Patent number: 5063972
Abstract: A projectile accelerator has a coupling transmission articulated between a cam follower lever and a picking lever which has two end positions. The projectile accelerator also has an eccentric rocker on the drive shaft which cooperates with a tensioning lug on the accelerating shaft in order to carry out a return motion of the picking lever without need for a large angular movement of the cam follower lever. The picking lever is able to traverse large angles of movement while the cam following lever traverses reduced angles of movement.

  • Patent number: 5027865
Abstract: A pick device is incorporated in a weaving machine for the shuttles. The device comprises an accumulator for a working medium which can be filled into and emptied out of the accumulator and a pick-executing unit is incorporated, which performs its pick operation upon actuation by the working medium during emptying of the working medium out of the accumulator. A regulating member varies the effect of the working medium on the unit as a function of signals received for a controlling unit, thereby providing a predetermined pick force to the pick-executing unit.

  • Patent number: 4373557
Abstract: An apparatus for picking or firing a projectile-like shuttle contains a pair of rolls revolving at a relatively high rotational speed. The rolls of the roll pair can be simultaneously brought into contact with a related shuttle in order to accelerate the same by frictional forces. To that end the rolls are each arranged upon a pivotal arm and operatively connected with a control arrangement. The rolls possess a predetermined elasticity such that their radial springiness or resilient yielding action at least approximately linearly increases as a function of the increasing radial contact pressure upon bringing the rolls into contact with the shuttles. These measures ensure for a practically wear-free, absolutely precise and controllable mode of operation of the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 4291731
Abstract: Mechanism for launching grippers in gripper looms, in which the launching power source is stationary and the gripper is provided with a guideway and means for controlling and defining the gripper path, such means being connected to the beat-up mechanism of the loom. The mechanism has a launching arm and an impact element which is connected thereto by means of a connecting rod and pivotal joints on the launching arm, as well as on the impact element, each of which provides for two degrees of freedom of motion between each pair of parts which it connects.

Abstract: A hydraulic driver is provided for a loom shuttle. The driver has a hydraulic cylinder (12) with a working piston (59) shiftably disposed in the cylinder for emitting throwing energy direct to the shuttle. There is also a supply valve (11) connected to the hydraulic cylinder (12) and distributing hydraulic fluid from a pressure medium source to the hydraulic cylinder (12) by the intermediary of a pressure accumulator (9) mounted on this cylinder. The supply valve is controlled by a magnet valve (10) directly connected to one end of the supply valve.

  • Patent number: 4241765
Abstract: A shuttle-drive arrangement for a weaving loom comprises at least one drive rotor (1) having a helical driving means (5) arranged to co-act with a shuttle-dogging device (23) for driving a shuttle (14) across the loom. The rotor (1) is arranged to be continuously rotated by a drive source (7). And means (8,9,10) are arranged to indicate the rotary position of the rotor and the driving means. When the driving means is located in a given position for driving the shuttle, a coupling mechanism (20,24,23) is arranged to be activated to an operative state for coupling the dogging device (23) to the driving means (5).

  • Patent number: 3964523
Abstract: An apparatus mounted on a weaving loom for moving a weft thread carrying mechanism from one end of a loom lay to the other through the shed of the warp threads. The apparatus includes a linkage having a drive mechanism which is rotated continuously and which maintains the weft thread carrying mechanism in a fixed position for an extended dwell period and then propels the weft thread carrying mechanism across the lay after the lay has beat up a prior weft thread and has been retracted to an inoperative position. The apparatus provides a substantial reduction in the noise level and power requirement over conventional looms and permits the speed of operation to be increased to improve production.
