The distal end of the adapter is totally enclosed within the plastic body of the brush and has a structure to increase the surface area of the adapter within the brush to strengthen the molded bond. The proximal end of the adapter has a spring loaded pin to secure an elongated handle to the brush.

Abstract: A disposable toothbrush system for maintaining a desired level of sanitation. The disposable toothbrush system includes a handle member having a detent member, a head member having a bore for removably receiving the handle member, an aperture within the head member for receiving the detent member, and a plurality of bristles extending from the head member. In an alternative embodiment, a pair of claws extending from the handle member catchably engage a pair of catch slots within the head member.

Abstract: The invention depicts a detachable brush comprising a brush portion (60) and a fastening portion (50) that extends along a first axis (C). The fastening portion (50), in order to be retained by a handle, comprises a first surface (52a) being angled in a first direction such that a normal of the first surface has at least a component in a first direction along said first axis (C), and a second surface (53a) being angled in a second direction such that a normal of the second surface has at least a component in a second direction, opposite to the first direction, along said first axis (C). The invention further depicts a handle with retainer portions shaped to receive and carry the detachable brush.

Abstract: The present invention cleaning brush includes a handle member and a brush member which are connected to one another in a locking/unlocking fashion and wherein they are separated from one another by a mechanism component that is located on the handle member remotely from the brush member. The handle member has a first end having a handle portion and a second end having a mechanism for removably attaching the brush member. The brush member has one of a male and female fittage and the second end of the handle member has the other of the male fittage and the female fittage. There is a locking mechanism for locking and unlocking the male fittage and the female fittage relative to one another. The locking mechanism includes lock-unlock manually operated component remotely located from the brush member, typically toward or near the first end of the handle member.

Abstract: A oral care brush device is described for use primarily for massaging and stimulation of sensitive gums and teeth. The brush head is hollow but closed at one end, and is made of a shape-retaining but soft and resilient material. One end of the brush handle is inserted into the hollow handle and is configured to substantially seal the open end of the head and trap air inside, the trapped air providing an air cushion effect. The air cushion effect and the soft head allow use of the device for effective and thorough cleaning, massage and stimulation of the gums and teeth notwithstanding the user's tooth or gum sensitivity.

Abstract: A connector is disclosed for use between a broom handle and its broom head and has other applications in which it is deemed desirable to obtain a quick and secure connection between threaded components. The male component of the connector consists of two adjacent sections of male threads, the first section having a smaller width or diameter than the second section. The first section forms the end of the male component. In the case of a broom handle, this is the end of the handle. The female component of the connector consists of an opening or cavity with female, receiving threads. In the case of a broom head, this is the opening within the head. The female component also has two opening sections of varying widths or diameters. The sections of the female component are each configured to threadably engage the respective threaded sections of the male component.

Abstract: Disclosed is a cleaning implement with a removable cleaning element comprising a base member having a first end with an annular toothed edge and at least one resilient retention member positioned intermediate the toothed edge and a second end of the base member, each resilient retention member having a stop surface facing the second end. An annular locking member is movably mounted on the base member, the locking member having an inner wall surface and at least one ledge projecting from the inner wall surface and adapted to abut the retention member stop surface. The inner wall surface of the locking member further includes a threaded portion intermediate an end of the locking member and the ledge. Also included is a cleaning element mounting member having an annular toothed edge for complementary engagement with the toothed edge of the base member and an outer wall surface with a threaded portion for threaded engagement with the threaded portion of the locking member.

Abstract: The present invention consists of a new and improved painting system having a bristle head with an aperture, a slender mounting rod adopted to removably secure the bristle head to the mounting rod and a handle or gripping portion which communicates with the slender mounting rod. It is anticipated that the securing means for securing the bristle head to the slender mounting rod may consist of: a simple tapered end and friction fit into an aperture in the bristle head, or, it may consist of a biased spring element on the slender mounting rod which will be retained in an annular groove in an aperture in the back or rear portion of the bristle head with a push-click type of securement, or, it may even consist of a simple friction fit between a tapered end of the mounting rod which is merely snugly pushed into a corresponding tight fitting aperture located in the back or rear of the handle or gripping portion. The slender mounting rod may be just a few inches long or it may even be a foot or more long.

When secured in position, faces on the locking arms engage faces on the locking section, limiting rotation of the handle. The bracket can be mounted in position by a plug that engages the unused handle hole on the broom head.

Abstract: A curling broom, comprises a broom head, a broom handle attached to the broom head, and a delivery accessory adapted for attachment to either the broom handle or the broom head in both a first position and a second position. The delivery accessory improves the balance of a person delivering a curling stone in the first position. The delivery accessory is stored in a nonobtrusive manner in the second position enabling the curling broom to be used for conventional sweeping in front of a delivered curling stone. The delivery accessory for comprises a support stand and a mount adapted for attaching the support stand to the curling broom. The accessory is also useable with tools such as shovels, rakes, and the like. A method for delivering a curling stone is also disclosed. The method comprises the steps of attaching a delivery accessory to a curling broom, and delivering the curling stone with one hand and holding onto the curling broom with a second hand as the curling stone is being delivered.

The handle is hollowed out over its entire length with a cylindrical orifice for housing a push element whereof the stem (10) is provided with unlocking wedges (14) to disengage the snap-on tab and the handle. The invention is applicable to toothbrushes produced in several separable parts.

The structure includes a fastening base located at one end of the handle, a fastening end located at one end of the working part, and a fastening device. The fastening end is detachably fastened to the fastening base in conjunction with the fastening device. As the fastening device is turned such that two planar surfaces of the fastening device are aligned with two side walls of an open end of the retaining hole of the fastening end of the working part, the fastening device can be moved out of the retaining hole so as to enable the handle and the working part to separate from each other.

The cleaning element is one of a plurality of interchangeable bodies, each having one major surface engagable with one major surface of a paddle and side edges having elastic mounted thereon to draw the ends of the side edges of the body inward to form an opening smaller than the outer diameter of the paddle to releasably attach the cleaning element about the paddle. Abstract: The present invention is a combination scrub brush, for use with or without a shaft, that presents a finished appearance regardless of whether or not the shaft is in use. The brush includes a grip, a base plate, and a bristle block holding several bristles formed into a substantially flat bristle surface and a curved bristle surface. The base plate is attached lengthwise to the grip, and the grip has a shaft line that is parallel to and offset from the base plate. An internal screw thread in the grip allows the user to attach a shaft to the grip so that otherwise inaccessible surfaces can be cleaned. When the shaft is not in use, a plug inserted into the grip provides a finished appearance to the brush. The plug includes a slot and loop combination used to secure the plug to the grip when the plug is removed and the shaft is installed. The slot and loop combination can also be used to store the entire brush when the shaft is removed and the plug is installed.

The bristles are resiliently flexible. A pole is elongate and has a first end and a second end. A rod is attached to and extends away from the first end of the pole. The top side of the bar is abutted against the bottom surface of the panel such that the aperture is aligned with the hole.

The second attachment mechanism of the adapter further has a central hook catch section for securely receiving a hook type mechanism of one of the plurality of mop handles. The third attachment mechanism of the adapter has a plurality of opposing engagement means for slidably receiving a slidable type mechanism of one of the plurality of mop handles.

Abstract: A paint brush assembly is provided that has a handle subassembly that is detachably engageable with a paint applicator subassembly, such as a bristle pack. The rear portion of the paint applicator assembly is provided with a handle connector and the forward end portion of the handle subassembly is provided with a tool connector. The handle connector is detachably associated with the tool connector by slidably inserting the handle connector into the tool connector. During the inserting, end portions of each one of a pair of resilient arms in the handle connector become reversibly engaged and interlocked with a different window provided in the tool connector. Manual depression of the handle connector's exposed arm end portions in the windows releases the arms from engagement with the tool connector windows, and permits slidable separation of the handle connector from the tool connector.

A head is releasably coupled to the front portion of the shank. The head includes a longitudinal bar having an engagement member on the surface at the rear end. The engagement member is guided along the first guide member to move to the end prior to being rotated a predetermined angle about the shank clockwise or counterclockwise so as to urge against either end of the second guide member for securing the shank to the head. A first cleaning member is on one side of the head, and a sleeve put on the joint of the bar of the head and the front portion of the shank. This cleaning device with replaceable head can reduce the manufacturing cost and storing space.

Abstract: A hand held back applicator for spreading emollients on one's back and other body parts, consisting of a curved handle with a grip, attached to a head with an absorbent pad accommodating the emollients. The pad is attached to the head by pressure-sensitive hook-and-loop strips, enabling it to be quickly detached for laundering and later re-attachment, or replacement. A cover which completely encloses the head with pad attached, shields against loss of emollients and permits hygienic storage and packing. Further, the head can be detached from the handle, so that the head, with pad and cover in place, can be stored and transported separate from the handle and grip. Handle and head are made of rigid plastics, the grip of vinyl, and the pad is designed for repeated hygienic hot water-soap washing, dryer cycles, and many re-uses. The dimensions of grip, handle, head and pad are economically selected for best results with maximum comfort and minimum operating cost.

Where a liquid delivering handle (24) is used, the handle adaptor (28) operates to adapt the mechanism (20) to avoid interfering with the liquid flowpath. The handle adaptor (28) may be eliminated where a solid handle is used. The sleeve (30) secures to the handle adaptor (28) or directly to the handle, and supports the engagement arm (32). The engagement wheel (34) is secured to the head (22). The arm (32) and wheel (34) present oppositely biased teeth (56,57) allowing the adaptor (28) or handle to be threadably coupled with the head (22), but which must be disengaged, by actuating the arm (32), to uncouple the head (22) from the handle (24).

Abstract: A paintbrush handle is claimed which is made of a durable material which can be reused for long periods of time allowing artisans using the paintbrush handles to avoid the problems associated with relearning a paintbrush handle after having had to discard a paintbrush of conventional manufacture. Also claimed is a process for striping cars.

The handle has a segmented locking section near its mounting end, and can be attached to either of two opposed apertures in the broom head. To enable the locking faces to engage onto the locking section from a radial direction, the open ends of the locking arms are spaced apart by a distance at least equal to the minor chord of the locking section. The bracket also has a locking aperture that allows it to be secured to the broom head by fastening the plug to the unused opposed aperture.

The stem includes a button on a deformable web, which seats in a sidewall aperture on the handle to releasably secure the connector to the handle.

Abstract: A tool handle connection system and apparatus includes an elongate metal tube, and a connection member. The connection member has one attachment end thereof fitted in an end of the metal tube, and an opposite, threaded end axially projecting from the metal tube and connection member assembly. The metal tube is crimped around the attachment end of the connection member, and the threaded end of the connection member includes self-tapping screw threads and a rotation preventing member is connected to a tip portion to the threaded end after it is inserted through a broom head or the like to prevent the handle from rotating relative to the broom head once it is attached thereto. The connection member includes at least one flat region engaged by a crimped portion of the end of the elongate metal tube. The connection member preferably includes a means for reinforcing axial retention of the metal tube and a stopper means for limiting insertion of the attachment end into the metal tube.

Abstract: A toothbrush is provided having an enhanced grip handle. The toothbrush includes a head, a neck portion and a handle, connected to the head via the neck portion. The handle may be provided with a multiplicity of small, inverted V-shaped protrusions. Each of these protrusions preferably have a substantially flattened vertex to promote easy and sure gripping by the user. In addition, drainage grooves may be disposed in the handle to drain water from the protrusions.

Abstract: A mop head with cleaning strands and a specially configured connector. Internal threading and dual channel openings are inset into the inner wall of the connector. A guide piece is positioned for rotatable movement adjacent to the threaded end of the handle which is to be threadedly engaged to the mop head, by means of the connector. The guide piece comprises two outwardly extending arm members and is held in position at the threaded end by a locking tab. The arm members are inserted into the channel openings as the connector is threaded into the threaded end of the handle. The rotational aspect of the guide piece permits continued screwing of the connector onto the handle's threaded end. However, the placement of the guide piece on the threaded end will not permit a mop head connector which is not configured with the dual channel openings from being threaded onto the handle.

In an embodiment, the elongated handle is separable into two sections threadingly engageable to each other. Alternately, the handle assembly provides an angled shortened handle having an offset grip for scrubbing surfaces at an elevated level within reach of an upright user.
