Plastic Mass Patents (Class 15/193)
  • Patent number: 4998316
Abstract: A circular ring shaped brush section for sweeping machines, and procedure for production of such brush section is provided. The individual wires (4) in the brush section are held in position mutually in an area close to the internal periphery of the brush section by means of a ring-shaped layer (7) of a thermoplastic material and by a ring (6) which is clamped round the wires (4) and the ring-shaped layer (7). The brush section can be produced as follows: a sheaf of wires (4) is first creased and cut to length whereafter the wires (4) are cut to accurate length and then a layer (7) of a thermoplastic material is moulded or extruded on one end of the wires (4). The wires (4) are then given the shape of a coherent wire matting. The material (7) is surface cooled in a cooling device (12) whereafter it is forced into shape in a compression and shaping device (13).

  • Patent number: 4916773
Abstract: A paint brush is disclosed herein having an apertured block retaining the heel of a plurality of bristles. A frame is secured to the block on one end and secured to a handle on its other end so as to define a cavity between the block and the handle for storing a bristle cleansing fluid during a cleaning procedure. A cover removably or pivotally attaches to the frame for introducing a selected cleaning solution or compound. An illuminating device detachably couples with the frame directing an illuminating beam immediately ahead of the bristles and the handle is configured with a lazy "S" shape to accommodate the natural hand grip of the user's hand during a painting procedure.

  • Patent number: 4285088
Abstract: There is disclosed a process for manufacturing a body of fibers for use in a brush as well as the brush so produced. This process comprises inserting a plurality of fibers into an opening of a plate, separating the fibers into a plurality of fiber bunches or curtains, applying an adhesive to the end of the fibers which is at the base of the plate, and removing the body of fibers from the plate, such that the body of fibers contains at least one parallel space or passage between the curtains of fibers. The body of fibers is then inserted into a brush handle. This brush may be used to apply coating liquids such as paints and varnishes.

  • Patent number: 4255224
Abstract: A machine for the manufacture of brushes having at least one brush head mounting structure for brush heads. The mounting structure is pivotal about two axes and furthermore is longitudinally movable. The machine comprises a bristle bunch holder for holding bristle bunches and movement devices for guiding the bristle bunch to a brush head. Between the bunch holder and the brush head there is arranged at least two heating elements with contact heating surfaces thereon. The heating elements are provided on a movable heating-element carrier which can be moved between an engaging position, in which one heating surface is adjacent to the brush head and the other adjacent to the bunch holder, and a rest position, which lies outside of the range of movement of the bristle bunch holder.

  • Patent number: 4094035
Abstract: Brooms made of synthetic fibers and having the necessary characteristics to be used for curling. Brooms of synthetic fibers wherein the essentially non-springiness of such fibers is compensated by inserting a resilient means within the bundle of fibers, such means being arranged to produce whipping as the usual curling broom without marring the ice. A flexible sheet is inserted between each side of the resilient means and the fibers. The fibers are loosely stitched or bound together to permit fiber flexing.
