Combined Valve Stem Cap And Tool Patents (Class 152/431)
  • Patent number: 11454331
Abstract: A valve cap assembly for being attached to an air valve and removably covering an end of the air valve includes a hoop, a cap, and an arched tether connecting the hoop and the cap. The hoop attaches the valve cap assembly to the air valve. The cap removably covers the end of the air valve to protect the end of the air valve. Both the hoop and the cap form a dependable interference fit between the hoop or cap and the valve stem to retain the hoop on the valve stem and to retain the cap covering the end of the air valve on the air valve. The cap includes one or more longitudinal protrusions that form the interference fit.

  • Patent number: 10443588
Abstract: A mini pump comprising a linear hand pump assembly and a valve core tool is disclosed. The linear hand pump assembly is configured to operate along a longitudinal pump axis and comprises a first end and a second end opposite the first end. The valve core tool is releasably coupled to the first end and has a central tool axis and a cavity centered on, and running parallel to, the central tool axis. The cavity passes through at least one of a top surface and a bottom surface of the tool and is shaped to mate with a valve core such that, with respect to rotation about the tool axis, the valve core is rotationally fixed to the tool. The pump axis and the tool axis are collinear when the tool is coupled to the assembly. The valve core tool and the pump assembly may be threadedly coupled.

  • Patent number: 8402988
Abstract: The specification discloses a tire inflation pressure regulator facilitating precise tire inflation. The regulator includes a body, a two-position valve within the body, and a rotational lock. The body includes an air inlet, an air outlet, and an air vent. In one position, the valve directs air from the air inlet to the air outlet when the tire pressure is below a preset level; and, in a second position, the valve directs air from the air inlet to the air vent when the tire pressure exceeds the preset level to prevent overfilling. The valve moves rapidly between the two positions, and is unstable between the two positions. The valve includes a regulator enabling the preset level to be adjusted. The rotational lock enables the regulator to be screwed onto a tire stem, but prevents removal of the regulator from the tire stem without a key.

  • Patent number: 7284327
Abstract: A valve stem puller which comprises a length of flexible elongated member which is connected at one end to a ring and at an opposite end to an externally threaded plug. The valve stem puller is to be utilized by inserting such through a fastener nut and then through a valve stem mounting hole in a tire rim and then threadably connecting the externally threaded plug onto a valve stem of an inflating tube and then inserting the inflating tube about the tire rim and within the confines of the tire, pulling on the flexible elongated member to cause the valve stem to connect with the valve stem mounting hole in a close conforming manner. A fastening nut is then threadably mounted about the valve stem to secure such in position. The tire is then completely installed on the tire rim and the externally threaded plug is then removed from the valve stem.

Abstract: A locking valve stem cap system includes a sleeve, a valve stem cap, and a rotation tool. The sleeve is configured to threadingly engage a valve stem, with a portion of a threaded region of the valve stem protruding into a cap receptacle thereof. The valve stem cap is configured to be inserted into the cap receptacle of the sleeve and to threadingly engage the portion of the threaded region that is located within the cap receptacle. The rotation tool is configured to facilitate rotation of the valve stem cap when the outer periphery thereof is substantially surrounded by the sleeve, thereby facilitating tightening or loosening of the valve stem cap relative to the sleeve. Methods for installing and removing the valve stem cap system from a valve system are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5791371
Abstract: The present invention relates generally to a valve lock for use in conjunction with a valve stem contained on an inflatable tire. The device comprises a hollow tubular component that receives the valve stem. A plurality of fingers are attached to the inner wall of the tube component and grip the valve stem holding the tube component in place. Also disclosed is a locking cap that threadedly engages the fingers causing them to tighten against the exterior of the valve stem. The locking cap can only be removed with the use of a matching key that is inserted into matching indentations on the locking cap.

  • Patent number: 4681148
Abstract: A semi-automatic tire deflation device attachable to a tire filler valve. A spring-urged plunger mechanism within the device is alignable with the filler valve element so that manual depression of the plunger mechanism opens the filler valve to start the tire-deflation process. The plunger has differential areas exposed to pressure forces, whereby reduction of the pressure to a predetermined value allows the spring to return the plunger mechanism to its starting position, thus automatically terminating the tire-deflation process.

  • Patent number: 4569363
Abstract: A hand held mechanism that can be applied to a conventional tire inflation valve on a vehicle tire to facilitate a tire deflation operation. The mechanism includes a rod-like element that automatically engages a tire check valve to open said valve for tire venting purposes. The mechanism also includes a hollow tubular called wall structure adapted to receive the sensing head of a conventional pressure gage, whereby the progress of the tire-deflation operation can be ascertained, as necessary to properly terminate the operation at a desired tire pressure. Mechanisms of the described type can be utilized on all wheels of a multi-wheeled vehicle to permit simultaneously deflation of all vehicle tires, thereby greatly reducing the time required to achieve a total tire deflation operation.
