Tire Characterized By Closed Annular Transverse Cross Section Patents (Class 152/453)
  • Patent number: 9616705
Abstract: A vehicle wheel having a rim, or a rim of a vehicle wheel, is provided wherein the rim consists of a fiber-reinforced plastic material in the form of several layers of a fiber-reinforced semi-finished plastic product. The layers are shaped to form a finished component in a press while heat is supplied. The rim conventionally consists of a rim well, whose two sides are adjoined by a rim shoulder, which transitions into a rim flange. The rim well is formed by several layers of a base laminate, which extends to the rim flange, between which layers further layers are inserted in the area of the rim shoulder as well as of the rim flange. The further layers have an essentially tangential fiber alignment.

  • Patent number: 7721779
Abstract: A tubeless tire includes a tread portion, two sidewalls, an interfacing material integrally formed between the two sidewalls of a pliable, flexible yet reliable material, two beads extending outwardly from the tire, delimiting a section formed by the interfacing material, and an air valve stem provided on the interfacing material. The thickness of the interfacing material is substantially the same as the thickness of the two sidewalls, and the beads project outwardly of an outer surface of the interfacing material. The beads are disposed in a position such that when the tire is mounted on a rim, the beads will fit within the rim, when the tire is inflated on the rim using the air valve stem, the interfacing material will expand, causing the beads to fit tightly within the rim, thus fixing the tire on the rim, and there is no sealing layer within the tire.

  • Patent number: 6336985
Abstract: A vehicle tire is made by inflating a vulcanized air tube to a slight pressure. Then, at least one thread element is wound around the transverse profile of the air tube to form a first carcass ply consisting of turns disposed consecutively in side-by-side relationship. A pair of annular anchoring elements is applied to the first carcass ply. Then, a second carcass ply is formed by winding at least one thread element so as to form turns disposed consecutively in side-by-side relationship along the circumferential extension of the air tube. Associated with the carcass structure is an annular element made up of a belt structure and a tread band. The carcass structure and annular element can be vulcanized separately from each other to make a tire having a tread band susceptible of replacement together with the belt structure.
