A tire having a strip layer between breaker and ply using a rubber composition for a strip layer between breaker and ply comprising (A) 2.0 to 3.9 parts by mass of sulfur, (B) 0.5 to 4 parts by mass of a cresol resin, a modified cresol resin, resorcinol or a modified resorcinol condensate and (C) 0.3 to 3 parts by mass of a partial condensate of hexamethylolmelaminepentamethylether or a partial condensate of hexamethoxymethylolmelamine, based on 100 parts by mass of a diene rubber component, wherein the thickness of the strip layer between breaker and ply is 0.3 to 3.9 mm.
