  • Patent number: 9507320
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for transferring surface structures such as interference layers, holograms, and other highly refractive optical microstructures to substrates. The aim of the invention is to devise a method which is used for transferring surface structures such as interference layers, holograms, and other highly refractive optical microstructures to substrates and can also be used in a high temperature range. The aim is achieved by a method comprising the following steps: a) a flexible intermediate support layer is applied to a support film as a release layer; b) an embossed sol is applied to the intermediate support layer and is provided with a surface structure; c) a stack encompassing a binder layer and the surface structure is produced; d) the support film is removed; e) the workpiece is thermally treated.

  • Publication number: 20120003445
Abstract: A method of forming a porcelain enamel article includes firing a porcelain enamel base over a metal substrate at a first temperature. A porcelain enamel cover coat can be fired over the base at a second temperature that is lower than the first temperature. The fired cover coat forms a preselected background color. A decal applied over the cover coat can be fired at a third temperature that is lower than the second temperature. The decal has a predetermined pattern on a carrier and has at least one open region. The carrier burns off and the predetermined pattern of the decal can form a porcelain enamel image fixed to the cover coat. The porcelain enamel image can have more than one color and the at least one open region can allow the preselected background color of the cover coat to show through and be incorporated into the image to form an identical color match in the image and the cover coat.

  • Patent number: 7775068
Abstract: A production method for laminated glass capable of performing a firing step for a fired substance and a bend-forming step to an inner sheet and an outer sheet in the same forming furnace when laminated glass having a fired substance between an inner sheet and an outer sheet is produced, whereby the inner sheet and the outer sheet overlap each other with high accuracy and a production device thereof, are provided. A production method for laminated glass having a fired substance between an inner sheet 2 and an outer sheet 3 wherein a firing step for firing a fired substance in a state that the inner sheet 2 and the outer sheet 3 are kept away and a bend-forming step in a state that the inner sheet 2 and the outer sheet 3 overlap each other, is carried out in the same forming furnace.

  • Patent number: 7156935
Abstract: Unfired first ceramic layers 11 and at least one unfired second ceramic layer 12 having a different color from the unfired first ceramic layers 11 are laminated to prepare an unfired ceramic laminate 13. Notches 14 are then formed on a surface of the unfired ceramic laminate 13 using the second ceramic layer 12 as a reference. The unfired ceramic laminate 13 is fired to provide a fired ceramic laminate 13a, which is then divided along the notches 14 into ceramic composites 13b. In this process, notches having the proper depth can be formed on the unfired ceramic laminate 13.

  • Patent number: 6241837
Abstract: A method of producing ceramic articles with a relief image comprises the steps of providing a ceramic article formed with a relief image thereon, providing a planar transfer decal having an image corresponding to the relief image, perforating the transfer decal to form a plurality of perforations through the transfer decal, applying the perforated transfer decal to the ceramic article, and firing the ceramic article with the perforated transfer article in a kiln. A pin tool comprising an array of pins is used to perforating the transfer decal. The relief image of the ceramic article can be formed in a mold or by an impressing roll such that an internal angle formed by each element of the relief image with respect to a surface of the ceramic article is less than 50 degree, preferably less than 45 degree. Pressure is applied to the perforated transfer decal against the surface of the relief image of the ceramic article manually or mechanically prior to the firing step.
