Abstract: A multi-part mask has a pattern plate, which includes a planar portion that has the desired aperture pattern to be used during workpiece processing. The multi-part mask also has a mounting frame, which is used to hold the pattern plate. Prior to assembly, the pattern plate has an aligning portion, which has one or more holes through which reusable alignment pins are inserted. These alignment pins enter kinematic joints disposed on the mounting frame, which serve to precisely align the pattern plate to the mounting frame. After the pattern plate has been secured to the mounting frame, the aligning portion can be detached from the pattern plate. The alignment pins can be reused at a later time. In some embodiments, the pattern plate can later be removed from the mounting frame, so that the mounting frame may be reused.

Abstract: A reduction of the multiple costs of manufacture, assembly use, and upkeep connected with the assembly of window frames on aircraft fuselages. To this end, the invention provides a particular shape for the frames connected to the fuselage skin according to a specific assembly method. The shape enables, among other things, the window frames to be fitted onto the skin by means of adhesion and also frames to be dispensed with between the fuselage and the window. In one embodiment, composite material window frame has a wall totally in the shape of a crown that is connected, through co-adhesion, to the inner surface of the fuselage skin, also made of composite material. The skin is cut into a window-receiving opening, and the frame has a T-shaped cross section, wherein the bar of the “T” that forms the crown includes two portions having substantially equal lengths “T.

Abstract: A method of placing a fastener plate on a structure made of composite material, the structure being obtained by a technique of injecting resin under a vacuum, the technique including placing a fiber preform in a closed mold, injecting a thermosetting resin into the mold, and polymerizing the resin prior to cooling. The method includes mounting a metal fastener plate against a wall of the mold before putting the fiber preform into place, the fastener plate coming into contact with one of faces of the fiber preform while the fiber preform is being put into place in the mold, and the resin becoming deposited between the fastener plate and the fiber preform while the resin is being injected into the mold. The method may be used in particular for fastening equipment on a composite material fan casing of a gas turbine for an aeroengine.
