Including Sliding Surfaces To Permit Relative Translation Of Hinged Members Patents (Class 16/362)
  • Patent number: 8068334
Abstract: An electronic device includes a first body, a second body, two hinge assemblies, two resilient members, and two latching members. The hinge assemblies hinge the first body on the second body. The resilient members are received in the second body and connect with the second body elastically. Opposite ends of the resilient member resist the second body and the hinge assembly, so that the hinge assembly and the first body move relative to the second body.

Abstract: A hinge assembly has a pintle, a rotating bracket, a sliding bracket, a mounting bracket, a compression assembly and an elastic member. The rotating bracket is mounted rotatably around the shaft and has a latching portion. The sliding bracket is attached securely to the pintle and has a track. The mounting bracket and a latching arm. The latching arm selectively presses against the latching portion to hold the hinge closed. The compression assembly is mounted around and expands when the pintle is rotated to close. The elastic member is compressed by expansion of the compression assembly so automatically rotates the pintle to open. Therefore, with the hinge mounted in an electronic device, when the latching portion is slid out of the latching arm, the hinge is forced to open by the elastic member and compression assembly so a cover pops up and is opened easily.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a window, comprising a case (2) and a frame (4), swingably fastened in the case by a swinging arm assembly (3). The assembly has a base plate (5), fastened to a case side piece, one end of an upper swinging arm (6) being flexibly fastened at the top of the base plate and one end of a lower swinging arm (7) being fastened at the bottom of the base in a similar way. The other ends of the arms are flexibly fastened to the top of a frame plate (8), the lower end of which supports a swinging axle (9), to be inserted into the respective side piece of the frame. Releasable locking elements are mounted between the frame and the case as well as the assembly parts, which belong thereto, respectively for a swinging limitation of the frame in relation to the case, which limitation can be cancelled. According to the invention the blocking elements are mounted adjacent the swinging center of the frame, partly at the frame plate (8) and partly at the base plate (5).

Abstract: A pivotal-axis changing hinge has a stationary leaf, a pivoting leaf, a pintle assembly and a cam. The pivoting leaf and stationary leaf are respectively connected securely to a cover having a rear edge and a keyway and a base having an elongated gudgeon. A parabolic edge is formed at an edge near the elongated gudgeon. The pintle assembly is mounted through the keyway and pivotally through the elongated gudgeon to allow the leaves to pivot along a pivotal axis of the pintle assembly. The cam is mounted on the pintle assembly, rotates simultaneously with the pintle assembly and has a protrusion mounted slidably on the parabolic edge to move the pintle assembly and the cover perpendicularly away from the base when the cover is pivoting. Consequently, the proximal edge of the cover is kept from colliding with the base and the rotating angle of the cover is expanded.

The lower casing is mounted slidably on the upper casing and is attached to a base of the electronic appliance. The spring is flat in cross section and is mounted between and connects pivotally to the upper and lower casings. Because the spring is flat in cross section, the strength of the spring can be increased without increasing the thickness of the spring. Therefore only use one single spring is strong enough to hold the cover and the base of the electronic appliance.

  • Patent number: 6959972
Abstract: A hinge assembly allows an access panel to be pivotally coupled to a cabinet, even though the cabinet includes a top cover that overlaps an upper edge of the panel. To open the access panel, a latch is actuated to first release a lower edge of the panel. The hinge assembly then allows the lower edge to be pulled out from over a base rail of the cabinet. Once the lower edge is off of the base rail, the hinge assembly allows the panel to be lowered without obstruction from the base rail. Lowering the panel then moves the panel's upper edge out from underneath the overlapping top cover. From there, the hinge assembly allows the panel to be swung open. To close the access panel, the process is reversed.
