With Guide Engaging Rollers Patents (Class 160/287)
  • Patent number: 10337217
Abstract: An exemplary deadbolt includes a pair of rollers positioned on opposing sides of an axial centerline of the deadbolt. The deadbolt may include chamfers or tapered surfaces extending from side surfaces of the deadbolt toward a face of the deadbolt. The rollers may extend beyond the face, one of the side surfaces, and/or one of the tapered surfaces. As the bolt moves from a retracted position to an extended position, one of the rollers may engage an edge of an opening in a strike plate, for example when the deadbolt is misaligned with the strike plate opening. As the rollers engage the edge, the deadbolt may be urged to a more aligned position.

  • Patent number: 6539678
Abstract: A pre-fabricated service bay used for providing service access to the underside of vehicles. The service bay is fabricated as a single monolithic unit and then positioned in an excavated hole within a service building. The service bay has multiple safety cover grids that are hydraulically activated to enclose the bay's opening when not in use. An access stairway is retractable within the bay during use with a deployable safety handrail that collapses upon stairway retraction.

  • Patent number: 5404926
Abstract: A roller shade comprising a spring-loaded retractor, a screen sheet having a trailing edge connected to the retractor, and a rod member attached to a leading edge of the screen sheet. The two ends of the rod member are guided by a pair of guide rails so that the rod member may be moved toward and away from the retractor by using a power drive unit in such a manner that the screen sheet may be paid out from the retractor and extended against the spring force acting on the retractor, and retracted or wound around the retractor, as desired. The rod member incorporates therein a telescopic structure which allows its length to be varied according to the change in the distance between the guide rails as the rod member is moved toward and away from the retractor. Thus, the roller shade can be adapted to windshields, windows or other openings having trapezoidal, curved or other non-rectangular shapes.

  • Patent number: 4341253
Abstract: A cover for servicing holes in automotive service stations consists of a band of pivotably connected support members, the ends of which are supported on the longitudinal hole edges. The band is displaceable longitudinally in opposite directions by at least one motor drive to open and close the servicing hole. During the opening movement the band is moved downwardly at one front end of the longitudinal hole. In order to avoid a broadening of this region of the hole the support members are telescopically assembled and are compressed to a reduced length in this region than in the covering region of the servicing hole.
