Abstract: A floating fascia system and method for providing an easy to install and adjust mounting system for window coverings. The system has a fascia which holds a functioning shade roller assembly and is adjustable in three planes. The fascia's distance from the wall, height and also left/right position with reference to the window opening are all adjustable.

Abstract: A safety gate has a frame with spaced apart top and bottom assemblies and spaced apart side assemblies in a deployed configuration. The top and bottom assembly length is extendable and retractable between the opposed side assemblies. A flexible barrier is connected to the frame. A one-way jack mechanism can be carried on each of the top and bottom assemblies. The length of the assemblies can be extended without actuating the jack mechanisms to adjust the frame to nearly fit a space between two surfaces. The jack mechanisms, when actuated, incrementally further extend the top and bottom assemblies so the frame interferingly fits between the two surfaces under compression. The frame can be reconfigurable between a compact configuration and the deployed configuration. The side assemblies can include latches that lock the frame in the deployed configuration.

Abstract: An adjustable side channel assembly for use with screens and shades includes a pair of adjustable side guides, each laterally adjustable with respect to a corresponding side frame. Each side guide may be moved to a desired position and then secured to the side frame with a fastener. Each side guide includes an axial fabric retainer configured to receive a side gimp of a shade. Each fabric retainer is loosely retained in a hollow channel within the side guide and laterally movable to enable both sides of a shade to lie substantially parallel when the shade is drawn. A take-up mechanism includes dual rollers with the outer roller having a shorter width to provide space for the side gimps to roll up and not spiral out when the shade is taken up.

Abstract: A sheet material tensioning apparatus includes frame members interconnected one with another to define a closed contour. The apparatus applies tension to sheet material by imposing a separation between frame members to expand the closed contour. Beneficially, the sheet material tensioning apparatus includes an edge-bridging mechanism, such as a spline, to span the gap between the separated frame members. The edge-bridging mechanism maintains the continuity of the edge supporting the sheet material. The sheet material apparatus may include a crossbar assembly to add rigidity to long frame members, while maintaining planar alignment even under considerable compression.

Abstract: A tonneau cover apparatus is disclosed for attaching a flexible cover about a cargo box of a vehicle, preferably a pickup truck. The apparatus preferably includes, a support frame removably attached about the perimeter of a cargo box of the vehicle, an elongated end plate attached to an end of the flexible cover, an end plate engagement member attached to the support frame, a latching member movably attached to the support frame, and a locking member movably attached to the end plate. The end plate and the end plate engagement member are preferably provided with complimentarily shaped surfaces which enable the end plate to engage with and swing around or pivot with respect to the support frame into and out of a fixed stretching position where the flexible cover may be alternatively tensed and relaxed.

Abstract: A tonneau cover apparatus for attaching a flexible cover about a cargo box of a vehicle, preferably a pickup truck. The apparatus preferably includes, a support frame removably attached about the perimeter of a cargo box of the vehicle, an elongated end plate attached to an end of the flexible cover and an end plate engagement member attached to the support frame, preferably one on each side of the support frame. The end plate is preferably attached to an end of the flexible cover and is configured to cooperatively engage and pivot with respect to the end plate engagement member and into and out of a fixed stretching position wherein the flexible cover can be correspondingly be tensed and relaxed. The end plate engagement member preferably has a radial receiving surface and the end plate has a radial engaging surface, which engages the radial receiving surface when the end plate pivots into the fixed stretching position.

Abstract: A nodal assembly for connecting at least two adjacent frame members of a perimeter frame, the nodal assembly comprising a central portion having parallel first and second sides and an opening in the second side, a first leg extending from the central portion in a first direction parallel to the first side and having a cavity within it in communication with the opening, a second leg extending from the central portion in a second direction different from the first direction but also parallel to the first side, and a retainer slidably received in the cavity and movable between a retracted position substantially within the central portion and the first leg and an extended position in which the retainer extends substantially outwardly of the opening in the second side of the central portion and away from the second side.

Abstract: A security device for obstructing movement of children or animals through an entryway includes a barrier mounted on a frame. The frame is made of substantially linear and rigid bars which are pivoted together to form one collapsible parallelogram which extends substantially entirely across the entryway. A movable pressure member is mounted on a vertical bar of the frame for laterally outward movement when the vertical bar moves down relative to the pressure member. To facilitate collapse of the frame to a position where all of the bars are parallel, each of two diametrically opposed pivots has its axis inwardly offset from the longitudinal axis of one of the bars it interconnects, and the barrier member is a net in which rectangular openings are formed by members which are substantially parallel to the bars. A frame-supporting hinge has a generally vertical hinge axis to permit horizontal swinging movement of the device.

Abstract: A security gate for positioning within an area way such as a doorway. The gate includes a support structure defined by a frame and a flexible panel supported by the frame. The frame includes horizontal members and vertical members detachable engaged with the horizontal members. One end of the horizontal members includes a lock assembly including a pivoting linkage defining a parallelogram structure for facilitating firm engagement of the horizontal members with opposing sides of the doorway.
