  • Patent number: 9505574
Abstract: A traction control system expands and deploys compact tightly wound precut paper with die cut slits. The system has an axle with a smaller diameter as compared to the diameter of tube over which a precut paper package is wound, thereby providing friction free rotation. The precut paper roll rests against a spongy device at one end. The other end of the precut paper role rubs against an adjustable cylinder assembly, providing friction that prevents paper spill and misalignment. The precut paper is manually fed to a paper-handling-mechanism having a large diameter central bulge roll contacting a spring-loaded small diameter roll. A flat belt strung between two pulleys contacts the large diameter roll at the bottom to thereby support the paper. Precut paper exiting the paper-handling-mechanism is manually pulled by user in any direction to expand the precut slits and thereby create a three-dimensionally shaped paper web for packaging.

Abstract: An automatic traction control system expands and deploys compact tightly wound precut paper with die cut slits. The system has an axle with a smaller diameter than the diameter of a tube over which a precut paper package is wound, providing friction free rotation. The precut paper roll rests against a spongy device at one end. The other end rubs against an adjustable cylinder assembly, providing friction that prevents paper spill and misalignment. The axle of the paper handling mechanism is set at an angle to the grab direction of an edge of the precut paper, expanding the grabbed edge and the ungrabbed edge. Grabbing is effected by a belt and two rollers applying precise controlled vertical loading obtained by a slidable and rotatable plate having the weight of a motor, gearbox and pulleys. Due to the angle set, the precut paper stretches expanding the precut paper to three dimensional shape.

  • Patent number: 8132527
Abstract: An electrode mixture paste (5) is applied on both sides of a strip of core material (1) as it runs along its lengthwise direction, and the coating thickness of the paste (5) is adjusted as the core material (1) coated with the paste (5) passes through a gap between a pair of scraper tools (16a, 16b). Tips (18) provided to the scraper tools (16a, 16b) scrape off the paste (5) to form a paste-coated portion of a predetermined width. The electrode mixture paste (5) scraped off with the tips (18) is returned through recesses (19) on the upstream side of the tips (18) in the running direction of the core material, so as to prevent the phenomenon where the coating thickness is increased at both side edges of the paste-coated portion. Thus, a method for applying electrode mixture paste is realized that can prevent the phenomenon where the coating thickness is increased at both side edges of the paste-coated portion and prevent process failures such as deformation of paste-coated sheet.

  • Patent number: 7033459
Abstract: An arrangement for doctoring a belt or a soft roll surfacing in a paper or board machine includes a doctor set in connection with a surface with a doctor blade fitted in it for doctoring the surface. The doctor blade is at least partly of a material, the hardness of which is essentially equal to or less than the hardness of the material of the surface, in order to prevent the doctor blade from cutting into the surface. The material is arranged to form a layer extending over the entire width of the doctor blade, and the thickness of which throughout is at least half of the thickness of the doctor blade. A support construction is arranged in the doctor blade, which together with the layer is arranged to form the doctor blade.

  • Publication number: 20020060032
Abstract: The invention relates to apparatus clamping at least one paper or non-woven sheet and including two cylinders which run substantially tangent to one another. At least one of the cylinders has on its surface and in a zone that makes contact with the sheet a clamping band having first salient elements. The interaction of the two cylinders in the presence or absence of the sheet subtends an active surface during the rotation of the cylinders. In the invention, at least one of the cylinders has on its surface and in a zone (nip) that makes contact with the other cylinder by means or not of the sheet a load compensating band having second salient elements. This band is selected so that the variation of the consecutive instantaneous active surfaces of the clamping band and of the load compensating band is less than the variation of the consecutive instantaneous active surfaces of the clamping band alone.

  • Patent number: 5178731
Abstract: The invention concerns a method and a device for removing water out of the perforations in a suction roll wherein a doctor blade is brought into contact with the face of the suction roll. The doctor blade is mounted with its slat face in such an angular position in relation to the face of the suction roll that the angle between the face plane of the doctor blade and the tangential direction of the face of the suction roll, when the tangent is drawn at the contact point between the tip of the doctor blade and the face of the suction roll, is from about 2.degree. to about 10.degree.. In the method, water is removed by means of the inlet-side surface plane of the doctor blade, the inlet side being seen in the sense of rotation of the suction roll, and the water is allowed to flow smoothly over the doctor blade out of contact with the construction.

  • Patent number: 5158521
Abstract: A rolled paper embossing dispenser in which the paper is embossed and from which the paper is simultaneously dispensed. The dispenser includes a nip formed by a first embossing roll and a second embossing roll, both rotatably mounted within a cabinet. The first embossing roll has a plurality of spaced-apart annular bands with each annular band including discrete, spaced-apart knuckle projections extending radially from the roll. The second embossing roll includes annular slots and annular extensions arranged in alternating relationship with each annular slot having sufficient width to receive the knuckle projections without contacting any portion thereof as paper is fed through the nip and embossed. A lever or crank is provided for a user to rotationally drive one of the embossing rolls, the other embossing roll rotating only in response to the paper being drawn through the nip such that rotational slippage of one roll with respect to the other will not result in breaking or tearing the web.
