  • Patent number: 9474188
Abstract: Present thermal solutions to conduct heat from pluggable optical modules into heat sinks use a metal heat sink attached with a spring clip. The interface between the pluggable module and the heat sink is simple metal-on-metal contact, which is inherently a poor thermal interface and limits heat dissipation from the optical module. Heat dissipation from pluggable optical modules is enhanced by the application of thermally conductive fibers, such as an advanced carbon nanotube velvet. The solution improves heat dissipation while preserving the removable nature of the optical modules.

Abstract: A reservoir unit which is included as an element along a circulation path of a cooling system includes a cartridge and a cartridge loading unit which are configured to be removable from each other. The cartridge includes a reservoir chamber that stores a circulating liquid, and a connection portion in fluid communication with the reservoir chamber. The cartridge loading unit includes a connection receiving portion, to which the connection portion is connected, and a connection port. When the cartridge and the cartridge loading unit are attached to each other, the connection portion, the connection receiving portion and the connection port form a feed path that allows feeding the circulating liquid to the circulation path outside, and a collection path that allows collecting the circulating liquid into the reservoir chamber.

Abstract: The invention relates to a heat exchanger for carrying out a thermal exchange between a first fluid and a second fluid. The heat exchanger includes a plurality of chambers stacked in a longitudinal direction to form a thermal exchange bundle. At least one first chamber suitable for containing the first fluid is defined by a pair of first plates, and at least one second chamber suitable for containing the second fluid is defined by a pair of second plates. The second plates including openings in communication with the second chamber The first plates each include at least two primary openings and at least two secondary openings The two primary openings being in communication with the first chamber, and the two secondary openings being in communication with the openings of the second plates.

Abstract: An object in one aspect is to supply, to an electronic device, cooling fluid of a temperature lower than a temperature of an environment in which the electronic device is set. A cooling system has an electronic device, a supply pipe, a discharge pipe, and a heat exchange portion. The supply pipe supplies cooling fluid to the electronic device, and the discharge pipe discharges cooling fluid from the electronic device. The heat exchange portion exchanges heat between the supply pipe and the discharge pipe in a case in which a temperature of cooling fluid flowing through the supply pipe is lower than a dew point of an environment in which the electronic device is set.

Abstract: An apparatus for cooling objects such as food items, beverages or vaccines comprises at least two reservoirs, a cooling device for cooling fluid contained in one of the reservoirs and a thermal transfer region between respective upper regions of the reservoirs. The thermal transfer region permits thermal transfer between the fluid contained in the reservoirs such that cooling of the fluid in one reservoir causes cooling of the fluid in the other reservoir.
