  • Patent number: 8863834
Abstract: In one embodiment, a wear band comprises a rotating element having a bore receivable on a tubular, the bore comprising first and second bore portions slidably receiving first and second sleeve bearings. Outer surfaces of the sleeve bearings slidably engage the bore portions and the bores of the sleeve bearings slidably engage the tubular. A first stop collar and a second stop collar may be received on the tubular to together straddle the rotating element and sleeve bearings to longitudinally secure the rotating element in a position on the tubular. • Patent number: 8596369
Abstract: A packer assembly can include an annular seal element and an end ring including leaves formed on a body of the end ring, whereby the leaves are biased radially outward when the seal element extends radially outward. A method of sealing an annulus in a subterranean well can include positioning a circumferential series of leaves radially outwardly overlying an annular seal element of a packer assembly, and the leaves pivoting radially outward in response to swelling of the seal element. Another packer assembly can include an annular seal element which swells in response to contact with a selected fluid in the well, and an end ring including an end ring body with a removable portion being engaged with the end ring body via interlocking profiles.

Abstract: A shaped charge pipe cutter is constructed with the cutter explosive material packed intimately around an axially elongated void space that is continued through a heavy wall boss portion of the upper thrust disc. The boss wall is continued to within a critical initiation distance of a half-cuter junction plane. An explosive detonator is positioned along the void space axis proximate of the outer plane of the upper thrust disc. Geometric configurations of the charge thrust disc and end-plate concentrate the detonation energy at the critical initiation zone.

  • Publication number: 20130248207
Abstract: A centraliser is disclosed for an oil, gas or water well, the centraliser having a body, and the body having a bore with an axis, the bore being configured to receive a tubular to be centraliser, the body having at least one resilient device configured to extend radially from the axis of the bore, wherein the body has at least one collar member extending radially inwards from the centraliser body adjacent to an end of the body. The collar can be formed separately from the body and attached subsequently, so that the body and the resilient device can optionally be formed in a single stamping or forming step from a single sheet of resilient material. The collars (typically at each end) are typically fixed co-axially in the bore so as to be resistant to axial movement of the collar member within the bore relative to the body of the centraliser, and can be retained in the body by radially extending a lip formed by forcing material at the ends of the body radially inwards into the bore to retain the collar.
