  • Patent number: 10329849
Abstract: The present invention relates to a multi-functional drilling experiment platform, which consists of a gantry, a hydraulic cylinder, a power swivel and a platform base. The gantry mainly realizes the control of the drill string during the drilling-in process. In order to simulate the vertical well, the inclined well, and the horizontal well, the drilling machine needs to rotate between 0° and 90°. The rotation of the gantry is realized by the extension and contraction of the hydraulic cylinder. The platform base is used to set up the gantry and the hydraulic cylinder, bearing the pulling, pressing and twisting loads of drilling experiments. Also, the platform base can move along the track to achieve different types of experiments. The multi-functional drilling experiment platform of the present invention realizes the load simulation experiment of the drilling machine at different angles using the gantry and the hydraulic cylinder.

Abstract: An arrangement for mounting swing cylinders in a boom for a rock drilling unit which includes a frame, a boom pivotally connected about vertical and horizontal shafts, relative to the frame, a lift cylinder connected between the frame and the boom, and a swing cylinder connected between the frame and the boom. The unit also includes a support for a feed beam, pivotally connected to the other end of the boom about horizontal and vertical shafts, a tilt cylinder, connected between the support and the boom, and a transverse swing cylinder connected between the support and the boom. The swing cylinder is coupled at an angle (.alpha.), relative to the longitudinal axis of the boom, such that the longitudinal axis of the swing cylinder has a downward inclination from the frame toward the opposite end of the boom, so that with the boom in the middle of its upper and lower angles of altitude, the swing cylinder is essentially horizontal.

  • Patent number: 5884712
Abstract: An arrangement is provided for a telescope feeder of a rock-drilling machine, having two telescopic portions, between which is connected an extension cylinder so that the rock-drilling machine moves along one telescopic portion. The extension cylinder comprises a separate adjusting piston, which is mounted movably around the piston rod so that it can move irrespective of the piston of the extension cylinder. Three cylinder spaces are thus formed inside the extension cylinder and to each cylinder space is connected a separate channel for pressure medium, so that the adjusting piston can be displaced to a desired position.

  • Patent number: 5836400
Abstract: A hydraulic tool having a ram or other working element propelled by pressurized fluid. The tool has a lever which is squeezed to develop fluid force in a pump. The fluid circuitry automatically operates the ram selectively at any one of three operating speeds and hence at three different magnitudes of force relative to the input speed of the lever as it is squeezed. The circuitry includes a principal supply subcircuit in which fluid flows directly from the pump to the ram, thereby establishing a normal speed mode of operation. A high speed subcircuit and a low speed subcircuit each operated by respective pressure responsive valves direct fluid ejected as the ram piston and pump piston advance to the respective rear sides of the ram piston and pump piston.

  • Patent number: 5799738
Abstract: A doweling hole drilling machine includes a vehicle such as a tractor having a frame pivotally mounted to the side of the tractor. The frame is moveable around an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle from a first horizontal orientation to a second vertical orientation, and the raising or lowering of the frame is powered by hydraulic cylinders. Positioned on the frame are a plurality of parallel mounted spaced drilling machines, each of which is positioned for drilling a hole perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. Each of the drilling machines is mounted on a drive assembly for moving the machine axially to thereby force a drill bit in the machine to drill a hole. The frame is also laterally adjustable in a horizontal direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the tractor and the lateral adjustment is also hydraulically powered.

  • Patent number: 5794716
Abstract: A system for allowing elongate members such as piles, caissons, and casings to be driven into the earth at inaccessible locations. The system comprises a structural assembly having a support assembly and a bracing assembly. The structural assembly is arranged on a ground engaging assembly. The bracing assembly engages the caisson as it is being driven to make sure that it is plumb as it is being driven and when it is subsequently in the earth. The ground engaging assembly is adjustable to alter the orientation of the structural assembly to maintain the caisson in a plumb orientation. The bracing assembly comprises a guide portion and an extension portion. The extension portion may be retracted and extended relative to the support assembly. The system employs a conventional vibratory hammer to drive the elongate member. The system may also include a helicopter to lift the various components and the elongate member to the desired location.

  • Patent number: 5746277
Abstract: Augering device is disclosed which is useful for drilling holes in the ground at various angles under relatively low overhead or ceiling conditions. The device is suitable for mounting on a wide variety of vehicles ranging from the bed of small pickup trucks to very large track type caterpillars with booms. The device has an extendable mast powered by a downcrowding mechanism, a kelly assembly, and a kelly rotating mechanism. The extendable mast has a first mast member and a second mast member. A downcrowding hydraulic cylinder extends the second mast member away from the first mast member and pulls the second mast member towards the first mast member. The telescoping kelly sections include at least an outer kelly section and an inner kelly section. The outer kelly section has an axis parallel to but spaced apart from the axis of the first mast member. A bearing rotatable supports the outer kelly section and prevents axial displacement of the outer kelly section relative thereto.

  • Patent number: 5630477
Abstract: A downcrowdable telescopic augering apparatus including a vehicle having a boom which carries a cradle in which a kelly tube is slidably mounted and on which a kelly winch and a service winch are mounted. A winch management system oversees the operation of said winches to prevent the kelly cable and the service cable from being broken or becoming slack when the kelly tube moves with respect to the cradle. A bottomhole kelly cable arresting system arrests the rotation of the drum of the kelly winch when the kelly cable is slack.

  • Patent number: 5213169
Abstract: The drilling system of this invention provides a drill mast mounted on a turntable. The turntable may be mounted on any type of undercarriage or carrier. The drill mast can be positioned around the perimeter of the turntable, it can be positioned near to, or away from, the turntable. The drill mast is carried on a trunnion mounting and can be oriented along Y and Z axis' with respect to the turntable X axis for drilling angle holes. A pipe joint breaker assembly is provided adjacent the lower end of the drilling mast. This assembly can accommodate different size pipe diameters. The drilling systems of this invention is specially adapted to reverse-circulation sample drilling employing a down-the-hole hammer drill. The drilling head configuration provides for simultaneous feeding into a multi-walled drill string of drilling mud, compressed air into the drill string to operate the hammer drill and to feed the hammer drill bit head, and withdrawing of sample-containing return air.
