With Anvil Arranged To Transmit Torsional Impact To Tool Patents (Class 173/93)
  • Patent number: 6318479
Abstract: This invention relates generally to an impact tool. The present invention provides a vibration isolated impact tool wherein an impact mechanism and a motor assembly are arranged into a cartridge assembly. An elastomeric member resiliently connects the cartridge assembly with a housing. The cartridge assembly is free to move axially and rotationally within the housing. The elastomeric member absorbs axial vibration and torsional vibration, reducing the vibration transmitted to an operator.

Abstract: A clutch-buffer assembly for power wrench comprises a driven wheel having an outwardly extended positioning tube disposed at a power-input end thereof. A retaining spring, a retaining disc, a driven gear, an anchor ring, and a reversible motor are collared onto the positioning tube sequentially, wherein the retaining disc is limited to move back and forth along the positioning tube without rotation; a pair of protruding teeth and reception cavities in respective contact faces of the retaining disc and the driven gear; and the reversible motor is used to drive the driven gear. When the driven wheel rotates at a higher speed, the retaining disc can be detached from the driven gear for control of the power consumption to lessen the imposed load in order not to blow the fuse, by this way the power wrench can generate larger output torque. Also, the retaining disc can be detached from the driven gear to alleviate the backlash caused by recoil of the driven wheel when impacting.

Abstract: A drive assembly for an electric hand tool uses a ratchet and two opposed, spring-loaded pawls. The ratchet is integrally formed as a dovetail flange on the tool shaft inside a hollow rotor. The pawls are asymmetrical and pivotally mounted inside a recess in the rotor such that the centrifugal force generated by the rotation of the rotor causes the appropriate pawl to engage the ratchet and rotate the tool in the appropriate direction. When the rotor stops rotating, the spring causes the pawl to disengage from the ratchet and return to a rest position. This drive assembly is advantageous in that it completely does away with the noise generated by the gears in the conventional drive assembly and is much cheaper and more convenient to repair.

Abstract: A torque transmission mechanism to be used in a power wrench includes a body driven by a motor, having a central bore to rotatably support therein a toothed end of an output shaft. The toothed end of the shaft has a pair of diametrically opposite teeth, each defined by two circumferentially opposite contact faces that extend along radii of the output shaft. The body has a radial notch communicating the bore with a coupling member pivotally received therein. The coupling member has two opposite wings alternately movable into the bore with the rotation thereof to selectively engage one of the teeth for driving the shaft. A centrifugal clutch is provided between the body and the motor to control the movement of the wings.

  • Patent number: 5435398
Abstract: An electrical wrench includes a motor and a drive shaft driven by the motor. A transmission body is mounted on the drive shaft for rotating synchronously therewith and has an accommodating space. A wrench shaft has a follower member extending into the accommodating space. A swing member has an axial positioning protrusion and is pivoted within the accommodating space about an axis offset and parallel to the axis of rotation of the transmission body. The swing member can swing to an engaging position with the follower member to transmit rotation when the transmission body is rotated to a high speed. A shoe assembly is biased to clamp the swing member to disengage the swing member from the follower member and releases the swing member to the engaging position by virtue of the centrifugal force induced at the high speed of the transmission body.

  • Patent number: 5261233
Abstract: In an open state of a valve, when a valve outside sleeve is rotated in the rear portion of a housing, a valve inner sleeve is moved forward to close a fluid channel, thus stopping supply of compressed driving air. Simultaneously, a front end of the valve outside sleeve is moved forward while it abuts against the rear surface of a retainer. Therefore, brake rods biased by compression coil springs are also moved forward, and front surfaces of the brake rods are abutted against a brake disk to effect braking, thereby immediately stopping rotation of a rotor. The urging force applied on the brake disk is the compression force of the compression coil springs.

Abstract: This invention relates to a rotary impulse screwing device which generates only one pulse per rotation of the output shaft. Two main and two additional lamellas are adjustably positioned in the output shaft. The two main lamellas seal at a minimum of two times per rotation of the output shaft. The two additional lamellas are adjusted independently via separate recess tracks to ensure that each additional lamella seals at only one point per rotation of the output shaft. The independently articulated additional lamellas further ensure that the load on the output shaft bearing is symmetrical on non-impulse points of rotation.
