  • Patent number: 6485598
Abstract: A method of manufacturing an electrical rod insulator for supporting an electrical conductor and comprising an insulating core obtained by molding and having a top end and a bottom end with a bore for receiving said rod in an axial direction, and covered in a molded covering having a groove for supporting said electrical conductor, wherein the core is molded in such a manner that its outside surface defines radial ribs extending along the axial direction from the top end of the core, said ribs being spaced apart from one another by a distance that is constant and substantially equal to the thickness of the core. The method makes it possible to avoid problems associated with molding large thicknesses when making a composite insulator having better mechanical and electrical properties at low cost.

  • Patent number: 6325340
Abstract: A space capable of readily mounting wires having different diameters and reliably preventing displacement of the wires with a simple structure is provided. This spacer is provided with a mounting hole capable of mounting wires having different diameters, and a hook and a hook receiver are provided on opposite end surfaces of a substantially V-shaped release portion. Any wire is fixed by simply inserting the wire into the release portion for mounting the same on the mounting hole and thereafter hanging the hook on the hook receiver. Thus, wires having different diameters can be readily mounted and reliably prevented from displacement with a simple structure. The wires can be readily mounted and dismounted by the hook and the hook receiver.

  • Patent number: 4406918
Abstract: The member is in the form of a hollow body having a skirt (2) surmounted by a head (1), the entire body exhibiting circular symmetry about an axis (10). The hollow body has an internal ring (5) at an intermediate level between the head and the skirt. • Patent number: 4025741
Abstract: A cylindrical porcelain insulator having a depressed opening in at least one end thereof is utilized as a support member. An elongated steel stud having a threaded end and an enlarged securing end is disposed in the depressed central opening of the porcelain insulator. The enlarged securing end has circumferential lateral ridges and depressions for providing an enlarged surface area. Babbit or epoxy material is disposed in the remaining volume of the depressed opening. The securing end of the stud is therefore suspended in the hardened babbit or epoxy material, which in turn is affixed to the sides of the depressed opening, thus affixing the stud to the insulator. The stud has a relatively flat circumferential lateral shoulder at the upper end thereof which protrudes above the end of the insulator and out of the depressed opening. An electrical bus bar or bus bar retaining apparatus is disposed around the threaded portion of the stud to rest on the flat shoulder in a flat surface to flat surface relationship.
