Abstract: A raceway system having forwardly open channel-shaped base members with opposed longitudinally extending side walls, and the side walls including inwardly and rearwardly projecting marginal edge flanges, the improvement wherein the raceway covers must be slid into these elongated base members to define at least one wireway therebetween, the covers including clips with wing portions adapted for nesting relationship between the base side walls and the base marginal edge flanges, whereby the covers cannot be disassembled from the base members as a result of flexing the base side walls, but must be disassembled by sliding them apart. These clips also include leg portions that extend well inside the base to prevent attempts to push the cover into the base, and thereby spread the base side walls to gain access to the interior wireway(s).

  • Patent number: 7361835
Abstract: The present invention is a toneable conduit that can transmit a signal and that can therefore be readily detected by toning equipment. In addition, the conduit of the invention can be readily coupled with other conduit to provide extended lengths of conduit. The toneable conduit includes an elongate polymeric tube having a wall with an interior surface, an exterior surface, and a predetermined wall thickness. A channel extends longitudinally within the wall of the elongate polymeric tube and a stabilizing rib extends longitudinally along the interior surface of the wall of the elongate polymeric tube and is located radially inward from the channel. A continuous, coated, high elongation wire is coincident with the channel in the elongate polymeric tube and is coated with a coating composition that prevents the wire from adhering to the polymer melt used to form the elongate polymeric tube.

Abstract: An electrical box with a snap fit panel including a mounting arrangement. The panel can snap fit against an opening in the sidewall of the electrical box to form an electrical enclosure with an internal mounting arrangement for mounting the electrical box in either new work or old work applications. Providing a mounting arrangement integral with the panel instead of integral with the box provides a significantly larger internal volume than prior art one-piece molded electrical boxes with integral internal mounting arrangements. The internal mounting arrangement provides fasteners internal to the electrical box, thereby enabling retrofitting an old box with no disruption to the surrounding wall.
