    Abstract: A one-piece electrical fitting for connecting an electrical cable to a junction box, the electrical fitting formed from a single, flat blank of metal into a cylindrical connector body. The connector body includes a leading end having an exit bore, a trailing end, a cap, an inner bore, and one or more combination tangs including grounding tangs, locking tangs, and flanges extending radially outward from the connector body. According to one embodiment, the trailing end of the fitting includes a rolled edge, and the leading end includes a recessed lip for accommodating an insulating liner within the exit bore. The exit bore in the cap is offset to one side with cable retaining tangs on the fitting configured to push toward the exit bore in order to ease insertion of cables and conductors through the fitting.

One or more cable retaining tangs extend inward from the connector body into the inner bore. The one-piece electrical fitting is stamped and formed from a flat blank of metal.

The longitudinal locking projection prevents the conduit from being unintentionally withdrawn from the conduit engagement portion. The transverse locking feature includes a transverse locking gap for preventing unintentional withdrawal of the conduit in a transverse direction from the conduit engagement portion. Prior to final installation, the conduit is forcibly inserted into the conduit engagement portion by squeezing the conduit through the transverse locking gap or by threading the conduit into the conduit engagement portion.

The washer has a first portion extending obliquely outward and downward to be deformed between the fastener head and an electrically non-conducting surface of the mounting portion and thus increase a mounting force on the module with mounting advancement of the fastener. The washer has a second portion extending axially into the internal opening to contact an electrically conducting insert therein and thus create a series electrical circuit from the typically grounded object through the fastener, washer and insert to a detecting circuit, which verifies that the module is securely mounted with a predetermined mounting force.
