Abstract: A plurality of samples can be analyzed sequentially in any desired order by intruding the samples into an automatic sampler, the automatic sampler including a plurality of sample ports connected to a holder, a connector, a valve, and a seal. The connector if each sample holder is attached to the valve by a transfer line, and each sample port is connected to a common manifold. A vacuum pump is activated to volatilize the samples sequentially through the common manifold to a vacuum distiller. The order of the samples volatilized is controlled by a microprocessor. Once the sample has been volatilized, the vapors are condensed and sent to an analytical device.

Abstract: A transportation vehicle for transporting an individual over ground having a surface that may be irregular. The vehicle has a support platform for supporting the subject and the support platform is coupled to a ground-contacting module at a pivot. While the ground-contacting module may be statically stable, balance of the support platform with respect to the ground-contacting module is maintained by motion of the ground-contacting module in response to leaning of the support platform. A motorized drive coupled to the ground-contacting module causes locomotion of the vehicle and the subject therewith over the surface, while a control loop, in which the motorized drive is included, dynamically enhances stability in the fore-aft plane by operation of the motorized drive in connection with the ground-contacting module. In the event of failure of the control loop, the pivot connection of the support platform to the ground-contacting module may be locked, thereby ensuring stability of the static assembly.

Abstract: A steerable wheeled sport conveyance is disclosed employing a unique diamond shaped footprint especially adapted for riding at relatively high speeds over various types of terrain. A first set of singular in-line steering wheels are rotataby mounted on the opposing ends of an elongated frame in a manner that also allows one or both of them to pivot on a vertical axis, and a second set of parallel wheels are mounted in an opposing manner across the longitudinal tilt axis of the conveyance. The opposing parallel wheels are attached to corresponding struts, which in turn are independently pivotably mounted near the longitudinal centerline of the frame, and are rotatable in a plane perpendicular to the rotationary plane of the two sets of wheels. Side to side tilting motions of the frame relative to the opposing struts creates vertical displacements between them, thus providing the steering forces that are conveyed and connected to the axels of one or both of the in-line steering wheels.
