Abstract: A brake for use in a work machine includes a friction disc, a ball ramp assembly, an actuator and an adjustment mechanism. The ball ramp assembly includes an inner plate, a center plate and an outer plate which are generally coaxially arranged relative to each other. The inner plate includes an outer axial face with a plurality of ball ramps, the center plate includes opposite axial faces which each have a plurality of ball ramps, and the outer plate includes an inner axial face with a plurality of ball ramps. A plurality of balls are respectively positioned within one of the plurality of balls ramps of the center plate, and also positioned within one of the ball ramps of a corresponding inner plate or outer plate. The actuator is coupled with the center plate for actuating the ball ramps. The adjustment mechanism is coupled with the inner plate or the outer plate for adjusting the ball ramp assembly relative to the friction disc.

Abstract: A portable power take-off unit for mounting to and dismounting from the rear of a vehicle, such as a pickup truck, providing mechanical operational power to construction and farm implements and machinery includes an engine for driving a belt and pulley assembly that drives a chain and sprocket assembly that, in turn, drives a power take-off shaft at selectable high or low speeds. An elongated drive shaft from the machinery is connected to the power take-off shaft for connection to the implement or machinery so that power can be provided thereto. The power take-off unit includes a hydraulic system, comprising a pump, reservoir, couplers, and hoses, for controlling the operation of the machinery, and a manually operable engagement lever for engaging and disengaging the belt and pulley system thereby controlling the engagement and disengagement of the power take-off shaft.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides systems for microprocessors to control a transmission power relay output with a latchdown mechanism in the event that either microprocessor decides it is appropriate to de-energize the relay. Advantageously, the present disclosure allows, for example, the transmission control to be performed by an existing dual microprocessor configuration instead of a custom-designed application specific integrated circuit (ASIC). The microprocessor-based software is more easily updated or changed to add functionality. Further, the present disclosure minimizes unique development with respect to electronic transmission control with a less complex design.

Abstract: The present invention aims at simplifying the structure of the inside of a transmission portion and the inside of a clutch portion. Accordingly, in the present invention, a drive shaft is interlockingly connected to an engine by way of a clutch, a distribution power transmission body is mounted on the drive shaft, and a traveling-system power transmission mechanism and a PTO-system power transmission mechanism are interlockingly connected with the distribution power transmission body in parallel. Accordingly, it is possible to form the drive shaft using a single shaft and a clutch is also formed of the single clutch structure and hence, the structure in the inside of the transmission portion and the structure in the inside of the clutch portion can be simplified and, at the same time, miniaturized whereby a manufacturing cost can be also lowered.

Abstract: Control circuits for a riding lawn mower. The control circuits provide an override condition for selectively allowing the cutting blades of the lawn mower to operate when the vehicle is traveling in reverse. The circuits incorporate an ignition switch (8), an override switch (80), a vehicle reverse switch (40), and an operator presence switch (12). In one aspect of the invention, the control circuits disable the engine when the vehicle is placed in reverse with the PTO engaged and without the override condition having been established. In another aspect of the invention, an electric PTO clutch (60) is disabled when the vehicle is placed in reverse with the PTO engaged and without the override condition having been established. The override condition is terminated when the vehicle is turned off, or when the operator deactivates the manual override switch.

Abstract: A range selection control system for a transmission facilitates safe operation of a power take off. A fluid actuated range piston assembly within a range cylinder moves between low range and high range positions. Range cylinder and range piston assembly define sealed high range and low range chambers. A neutral cylinder intersects range cylinder. A fluid actuated neutral piston assembly within neutral cylinder defines a neutral chamber. Neutral piston assembly engages range control piston assembly responsive to pressurization of neutral chamber. Neutral piston assembly is received by an engagement feature of range piston assembly when range control piston assembly is in a neutral position, retaining range piston assembly there. An electrically responsive locking mechanism locks neutral piston assembly in place when range piston assembly is in the neutral position. The locking is controlled by a condition of an electrical switch indicating a transmission condition.
