Patent number: 7828113Abstract: A beam 14 having, at one end, a tie-point 11 screwed to reference location 12 of vibrating panel 15. At the other end of beam 14 is rubbing-point 13. Rubbing-point 13 is pushed into contact with panel 15 at contact location 17 by the flexibility of beam 14. Direct rubbing occurs between 13 and 17 during vibration. Vibration of panel 15 will cause slippage (rubbing) between point 13 and location 17, therefore creating friction dissipation of vibration energy. Construction of beam 14 can be complex to include more rubbing-points (FIG. 2, 3, 4) or more rubbing pieces (FIG. 1A, 1C) that can rub with each other to create more friction dissipation.Type: GrantFiled: April 2, 2007Date of Patent: November 9, 2010Inventor: Kim Dao

Patent number: 7770693Abstract: An acoustic equipment mat is formed by arranging plural grain pieces of inexpensive silica gel in a single layer. When the mat is disposed under an acoustic equipment, the grain pieces have their upper ends in point contact with a bottom or the like of the acoustic equipment and have their lower ends in point contact with the underlying floor or the like. Hence, the mat 1a is notably reduced in the area of contact with the acoustic equipment or the like, so as to reduce the reflection of vibrations. In addition, the mat 1a is capable of extremely quickly dissipating, in the atmosphere, the vibrations directly propagated to the upper-end side thereof and the vibrations indirectly propagated thereto as reflected by the lower-end side thereof.Type: GrantFiled: April 5, 2005Date of Patent: August 10, 2010Inventor: Kazuo Uejima

Patent number: 7753166Abstract: A resonant frequency adjustor for mounting onto an exhaust pipe of an exhaust system of a vehicle adjusts the resonant frequency(s) of the exhaust pipe to minimize or control vibration transmitted to the vehicle and/or to tune the sound emitted by the exhaust system. The resonant frequency adjustor includes a base mounted to the exhaust pipe, an isolator attached to the base, a stud attached to and extending from the isolator, and a mass located on the stud. A gross adjustment of the vibration of the exhaust pipe may be achieved by varying the location of the resonant frequency adjustor on the exhaust pipe. A fine adjustment of the vibration of the exhaust pipe may be accomplished by adjusting the position of the mass on the stud.Type: GrantFiled: December 8, 2006Date of Patent: July 13, 2010Assignee: Windsor Machine & Stamping LtdInventors: Mark Brockman, Tom Brockman, Lionel Peltier

Patent number: 7743881Abstract: A vibration damping device capable of maintaining high vibration damping effect, and a bucket for a construction machine. The vibration damping device has a laminated plate (20) having at least its inner region fixed in a noise-emitting base material (11), the inner region being a region (G) other then a region which becomes a loop in a vibration mode when the base material (11) is vibrated in a vibration mode with a predetermined frequency.Type: GrantFiled: February 21, 2008Date of Patent: June 29, 2010Assignee: Komatsu Ltd.Inventors: Kazuya Imamura, Kuniaki Nakada, Taizou Nakagawa

Patent number: 7743882Abstract: A vibration-control platform that, in some embodiments, includes a bottom plate having three or more wells. The wells receive a plurality of vibration-control elements, which are used to isolate a supported object from vibrations. In some embodiments, the vibration-control elements are rubber balls. The presence of the wells facilitates placement of the vibration-control elements under a top platform or directly under an object, especially when the object is located in a tight space, such as in a component rack, or when the object has a non-uniform weight distribution.Type: GrantFiled: August 18, 2003Date of Patent: June 29, 2010Inventor: Vinh Thanh Vu
