  • Patent number: 8960369
Abstract: An air accelerating system includes a housing that has a bore extending through top and bottom ends of the housing. A mounting collar mounted on the bottom end fluidly couples the housing to an oil fill hole of a valve cover. An axle mounted in the bore has a plurality of main blades mounted thereon which are rotated when the axle is rotated to exhaust air from the bottom end to blow oil out of engine valves and into an oil pan of an engine. A drive mount mounted to the top end has at least one vent aperture extending therethrough that is in fluid communication with the bore. A drive spindle rotatably mounted to the drive mount is engaged with the axle and engageable with a drill. The drill rotates the axle to draw air into the vent aperture and expel it outwardly of the bottom end.

Abstract: A drain valve for draining liquid out of a container which comprises an essentially cylindrical opening that passes through a thickened area of the container wall, with an internally threaded section formed at an outer end thereof, followed by an interior space with a larger diameter into which a duct opens, and opposite the interior space an inner section with a smaller diameter opens into the container. A step is provided between the interior space and the inner section and serves as the seat for an associated end face of the valve element. A step between the interior space and the bore, on the one hand, and the inner end face of the valve element, on the other hand, are designed to co-operate as a valve seat which progressively opens and closes as the valve element is displaced.

Abstract: The present invention is an oil pump used in combination with a twin cam type engine, such as a HARLEY DAVIDSON® type A or type B engine, that includes a first high pressure gerotor and cam chest scavenger gerotor housing, a separator plate that establishes an independent dual scavenging capability and a second crankcase sump scavenger gerotor housing that pulls oil from the crankcase sump. The oil pump also includes a high pressure gerotor that pulls oil from an oil reservoir and supplies oil under pressure through a stock or aftermarket cam plate to the engine, a cam chest scavenger gerotor to scavenge oil in a cam chest of the engine and return the oil to the oil reservoir, a crankcase sump scavenger gerotor to scavenge the oil in a crankcase sump of the engine and return the oil to the oil reservoir and an o-ring to prevent the oil from leaking into the cam chest of the engine.

  • Patent number: 8757224
Abstract: A container for fluid which includes: an inlet; and a catchment surface for draining the fluid from an exterior of the container into the container through the inlet when the container is in a prone condition, wherein the container is moveable from the prone condition to a carrying condition, and wherein the inlet is positioned so as to be elevated above a contained fluid when the container is in either the prone condition or the carrying condition. The container can include a collecting wall, wherein the collecting wall includes a flow obstacle for slowing a flow of the fluid on the exterior of the container. The flow obstacle can be provided by ribs on the catchment surface. The container can include an outlet adapted to substantially resist fluid flow when in the prone condition, and adapted to allow fluid flow when in a pouring condition for draining the fluid from the container.

  • Patent number: 8746410
Abstract: An automated gear oil service system for a boat motor outdrive includes a bidirectional pump that is in selective communication with a drain reservoir, a refill reservoir and the motor's gear oil lube chamber. A control panel positioned on the boat dashboard operates the pump and associated solenoid valves allowing a user to transfer gear oil from the refill reservoir into the fluid chamber or to drain fluid from the chamber into the drain reservoir. The control panel includes LEDs in communication with a level sensor that indicates the relative gear oil level within the chamber. Accordingly, when the LEDs indicate a low fluid level, the user can easily replenish the gear oil by actuating a first button to initiate transfer of fluid from the refill reservoir to the lube chamber. To observe the quality of lubricating fluid within the chamber, the user actuates a second button to transfer the fluid from the chamber into the drain reservoir where the user can inspect the fluid for contamination.
