Automatic Patents (Class 192/111.14)
  • Patent number: 9677625
Abstract: A concentric slave cylinder is provided. The concentric slave cylinder includes a housing including a wall; a piston slidable along the wall in a forward direction and a return direction, the piston including a first angled surface, the piston and the housing forming a hydraulic chamber therebetween; and a ring slidable along the wall in the hydraulic chamber in the forward direction and limiting sliding of the piston in the return direction, the ring including a frustoconical portion having a second angled surface for engaging the first angled surface to limit the sliding of the piston in the return direction.

  • Patent number: 8201679
Abstract: An actively closed friction clutch actuated by a lever actuator and having an adjusting means, the lever actuator taking the form of a roller displaced radially by a spindle, which roller acts on a unilaterally suspended lever, the latter being displaced axially and acting axially on a clamping means such as a lever, lever spring or diaphragm spring. The adjusting means for compensating friction lining wear is enabled by an end stop position widened axially relative to a stop position of the lever, which end stop position is enabled by means of an engageable/disengageable stop. To distinguish the two stop positions, the force/travel characteristic line of the lever actuator is detected by the controller of the lever actuator.

  • Patent number: 8157073
Abstract: A separable clutch for a motor vehicle has a clutch plate including a moveably mounted release unit. The clutch is pressure-medium actuated and includes an actuating piston acting on the release unit to engage and disengage the clutch, and a pressure chamber which is delimited at one side by at least one part of the actuating piston and at the other side by at least one part of a clamping piston. At least the actuating piston, the pressure chamber and the clamping piston are resiliently supported in a defined position against the release unit by spring force. The spring force is smaller than a limit force required for actuating the release unit. A pressure change in the pressure chamber, brought about by a clutch actuation causes the clamping piston to actuate a clamping device such that the clamping piston is fixed before the actuating piston actuates the release unit.

  • Patent number: 7913585
Abstract: The present invention broadly comprises an assembly for incrementally changing an axially fixable position, including an annular gripping element with at least one deformation segment, a glide push ring axially displaceable along a pilot element, and a wedge push ring axially displaceable along the pilot element. The gripping element is in contact with a circumference of the pilot element and the deformable segments are circumferentially deformable in response to a change in a gripping element diameter. The glide ring incrementally urges the gripping element in a first direction along the pilot element. The gripping element axially fixes responsive to force applied by the wedge ring in a second direction, opposite the first direction, along the pilot element. A surface between gripping element inner and outer circumferences forms a fixed angle with the pilot element despite changes in the inner or outer circumferences.
