Including Noncontacting, Relatively Movable Parts Connected By Check Patents (Class 194/293)
  • Patent number: 10549938
Abstract: Disclosed is an example of a registration assembly for a media processing device, including a registration surface. The registration assembly including a bias member coupled to the registration surface to bias the registration surface toward the media processing path to apply a force to a media unit. The registration assembly including an activator coupled to a roller, the roller to be driven via contact with the media unit. The activator configured to move the registration surface toward the media processing path into the active position to engage the media unit responsive to rotation of the roller in the first rotational direction. The activator configured to move the registration surface away from the media processing path into an inactive position responsive to rotation of the roller in the second rotational direction.

  • Patent number: 8276734
Abstract: Centering device 14 of a bill validator comprises a pair of pinch jaws 15 positioned on the opposite sides of a passageway 6, and a centering motor 30 for moving pinch jaws 15 toward and away from each other for reciprocation of pinch jaws 15 so that pinch jaws 15 come into contact with side edges of a bill between pinch jaws 15 to align a central line of bill with a central line of passageway 6. As centering motor 30 stalls when warpage resistance by centered bill is greater than inherent holding torque of centering motor 30, centering device 14 has the simplified structure with reduced number of structural components for light weight and reliable centering operation.

  • Patent number: 7798303
Abstract: A multi-coin operated actuation mechanism includes an interchangeable coin carrier wheel having a coin receiving recess of a width different from that of another wheel such that a different number of coins can be deposited into coin accepting regions of the recess. The wheel has an outer segment on its peripheral edge defining either an abutment surface or a camming surface at an outer trailing end of the recess correspondingly aligned with the coin accepting region or a non-accepting region of the recess defined adjacent to the accepting region. Also, coin periphery sensing dogs are pivotally mounted side-by-side and match the maximum number of the multiple coins. The dogs have outer tip surfaces substantially identical and correspondingly aligned with and adapted to engage outer segments on the peripheral edge of the wheel to prevent or allow movement of the wheel past them depending upon whether the multiple coins are present or not in the recess.

  • Patent number: 7748512
Abstract: A container lock with a housing and, positioned in it, a bolt that can be displaced by actuating a handle, with an insertion shaft for inserting a coin, with a scanning device for scanning the diameter of the coin inserted into the insertion shaft as far as a scanning position, where the scanning device interacts with a blocking device in such a way that the bolt can be displaced only with a coin having a correct diameter. It is proposed that the scanning device should configure a fixing jaw, which securely grips the coin that is inserted in the insertion shaft so that it is partly accessible from outside in the scanning position with the bolt pre-locked to prevent its withdrawal.

  • Patent number: 4807737
Abstract: A manually actuated self-collecting parking meter includes a single lockable coin insertion device for receiving a range of available coin diameters. A coin checking device is arranged to receive one coin at a time from the insertion device and is placed in operation by turning a rotary locking handle. A parking time period display mechanism is arranged to be set based on the coin inserted into the checking device when the handle is rotated. The rotary locking handle can be rotated in either direction up to a stop for loading a force accumulator which automatically drives an operating mechanism for effecting the operation of the coin checking device and the setting of the display mechanism. For proper phase control of the operating mechanism, a closing segment and an operating segment are provided which uncouple the operating mechanism when the rotary handle is completely rotated so that the automatic operation is carried out.

  • Patent number: 4585112
Abstract: An automated feeding device for dispensing living insects to caged animals comprises a support frame detachably connected to an animal cage, a removable cassette assembly connected to the support frame and having a bottom plate with an annular portion having a smooth upper surface and a dispensing aperture therethrough, a top plate with an annular array of individual cells to hold live insects, each cell having a smooth interior surface devoid of insect grippable protrusions and an access opening for alignment with the dispensing aperture of the bottom plate with the top plate being rotatably mounted to the bottom plate for successive alignment of the access opening of the cells with the dispensing aperture and with the top plate in mating engagement with the bottom plate so that the smooth upper surface closes off the abutting access opening of the cells, the cassette assembly being removably mounted to the support frame to permit selective replacement of the cassette assembly, and an advancement mechanism f
