  • Patent number: 11878825
Abstract: A system for packaging one or more items includes an order arrangement station where the one or more items can be arranged into a stack with a desired configuration. A dimensioning mechanism determines the outer dimensions of the stack and a converting assembly creates a box template that when erected forms a box that is custom sized to the dimensions of the stack. A crowder assembly holds and maintains the stack in the desired configuration while the box template is at least partially folded around the stack. The box template is secured around the stack in the form of a box.

  • Patent number: 11779961
Abstract: A system for assembling cards in trays includes a pack stacker that stacks cards, a pack separator, a tray for receiving cards, and a processor. The processor is programmed to determine a number of cards in the tray, operate the pack stacker to assemble a plurality of cards into a stack, determine whether the plurality of cards can be accommodated in the tray together with the number of cards and, if so, transfer the stack to the tray. The processor is also programmed to operate the pack separator to separate the stack of cards into a sub-stack if the processor determines that the plurality of cards cannot be accommodated in the tray together with the number of cards wherein the sub-stack has less than the plurality of cards and transfer the sub-stack to the tray.

  • Patent number: 10525587
Abstract: An automated lumber handling method for transferring various size boards from multiples board storage stations to a common board-receiving area uses a trolley that carries at least two board pickers that can operate independently. The method provides several operating modes. In a first mode, a first board picker retrieves single boards from various stations, while a second board picker is inactive. In a second mode, two board pickers retrieve two individual boards from a single station. In a third mode, one board picker retrieves one size board from a first station, and s second board picker retrieves a different size board from a second station. The two different boards can be released simultaneously at the board-receiving area. In some examples, the lumber at each station is laser scanned to determine the number of boards at each station, and a worker is notified if a station needs to be restocked.

  • Patent number: 7559737
Abstract: A new type of pallet stacking assembly line. Two pick-and-place robots are used. The first robot has a relatively low position. The second robot is in an elevated position. A pallet dispenser dispenses a first pallet onto a pallet conveyor. The pallet conveyor then moves the first pallet to a first build position in front of the first robot. The first robot then begins picking products from a first pick position and stacking them on the first pallet. Once the products on the first pallet reach approximately half the finished height, the pallet conveyor carries the first pallet over to a second build position in front of the second robot. At the same time, the pallet dispenser dispenses a second pallet which is carried to the first build position. The second robot picks products from a second pick position and places them on the upper portion of the first pallet in order to complete the stack. Meanwhile, the first robot is picking and placing products on the lower portion of the second pallet.
