Patent number: 7392646Abstract: A feed roller primarily for feeding crop into a feeder house of a combine harvester is located above and behind a feed draper and includes an outer flight and retractable fingers for feeding the crop through the zone behind the draper and into the feeder house. The fingers rotate about a finger axis offset from the roller axis so that they extend to a maximum at the draper and are retracted behind the roller to release the crop. When the roller is reversed to release a blockage, the fingers are also reversed in direction and the finger axis is moved rearwardly to the opposite side of the roller so that the fingers are extended behind the roller at the feeder house and retracted at the draper. This movement is done automatically on reversing the roller and uses power from the reversal to move the finger axis using a clutch. An anti-distortion wheel is mounted on the finger shaft to prevent retraction of the finger ends into the roller which can cause damage by loss of proper guidance.Type: GrantFiled: June 16, 2005Date of Patent: July 1, 2008Assignee: MacDon Industries Ltd.Inventor: Roger L. Patent number: 7051864Abstract: A roller-guided feeding device includes guiding rollers, an arm which is movable relative to the guiding rollers between initial and working position that are remote from and closer to the guiding rollers, respectively, and which has a feed-in roller, a pneumatic cylinder, and a piston rod connected to a piston in the cylinder. The piston rod is moved as a result of a difference in pressures in the cylinder so as to turn the arm. A servo valve member is disposed to control air flow into the cylinder so as to hold the feed-in roller at the working position and the initial position in response to a work signal from a sensor member and a start signal from a manually-operated actuator, respectively. In response to a pausing signal from the sensor member, the feed-in roller is held at a pausing position to serve as another initial position in a subsequent cutting operation.Type: GrantFiled: February 1, 2005Date of Patent: May 30, 2006Inventor: Ching-Chi Lin

Patent number: 6158571Abstract: A bearing and finger assembly for journaling on a crank shaft. The assembly includes two bearing halves, each having a bearing portion with a semi-cylindrical bearing surface such that the bearing halves may be mated to define a cylindrical bore for journaling on the crank shaft. The bearing halves are pivotally joined together to wrap around the crank shaft. Each bearing half includes a finger retaining portion extending radially from the bearing portion. The finger retaining portions define a socket for receiving the an end portion of the finger so that the finger extends generally radially with respect to the crank shaft. A sleeve surrounds the finger retaining portions to hold the bearing halves together about the crank shaft. The sleeve, the finger, and the finger retaining portions have transverse bores aligned with one another and receive a retaining pin that holds the sleeve on the bearing halves and the finger in the socket.Type: GrantFiled: April 1, 1999Date of Patent: December 12, 2000Assignee: Deere & CompanyInventor: Duane Junior Gosa

Patent number: 5368151Abstract: Rows of bottles are conveyed on parallel running belts. Closed loop flexible members such as roller chains, run in vertical planes along the longitudinal edges of the belts in the same direction as the belts. The closed loop chains have stabilizing devices mounted to them for stabilizing the bottles in each row as they move along on the belts beyond a bottle infeed region. The stabilizing devices each constitute a pair of fingers that are pivotally mounted to pins that stand up from the closed loop chains and are spring biased so that they diverge at a predetermined angle from each other when they are not restrained from doing so. As the sets of fingers are carried around on the chain, they reach a region where the bottles are deposited on the belts. At least in this region, the fingers of the stabilizing devices arrive between parallel plates which cause the fingers to pivot towards each other in an overlapping relationship so that they are clear from the pathway defined by the belts.Type: GrantFiled: November 2, 1993Date of Patent: November 29, 1994Assignee: Krones AG Hermann Kronseder MaschinenfabrikInventor: Klaus Klenk

Patent number: 5123522Abstract: A retracting bridging conveyor is provided to bridge the space between the output edge of a packaging machine sealing head work area structure and a fixed product output conveyor. This bridging conveyor operates to position a plurality of roller rods concurrently in consecutive locations thereby bridging across the particular space while in the horizontal plane of the path of the package/product flow, whereby a motion in the direction of the output conveyor is imparted to a package entered onto it. The invention, when timing and sequencing of operations require, then withdraws the plurality of roller rods below the horizontal plane of the path of the package/product flow.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 1991Date of Patent: June 23, 1992Assignee: SKS Equipment CompanyInventor: Daniel P. Patent number: 4591046Abstract: A lugged chain conveyor system has two generally coplanar conveyor elements disposed at an angle to one another. A turntable which transfers articles from one conveyor to the other has several grippers equidistant from one another which are spring biased to open position, and a fixed cam rail cooperates with cam followers on the grippers to clamp articles onto the turntable as they leave one conveyor and release the articles when they are above the other conveyor.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 1985Date of Patent: May 27, 1986Assignee: R. Patent number: 4484684Abstract: A parts separator for separating molded plastic parts from sprue-runner elements. The separator comprises a supporting frame, a hollow drum mounted for rotation about a first horizontal axis and constituting an outer separator element, and an inner separator element mounted within the drum for rotation about a second horizontal axis which is spaced from and parallel with the first axis. The drum has a plurality of apertures in its outer surface and the inner separator element includes a plurality of pins which extend through the apertures, so that rotation of the inner and outer separator elements about their respective axes causes the outer end of each pin to reciprocate within the aperture between an inner position wherein the end of the pin is flush with the outer surface of the drum to an outer position wherein the end of the pin extends substantially beyond the outer surface of the drum.Type: GrantFiled: May 17, 1982Date of Patent: November 27, 1984Inventor: Merritt D.
