  • Patent number: 6674032
Abstract: A manual call point having a housing base (1), a cover and an alarm insert with a fragile panel (4), a printed-circuit board (3), a switching element (6) and an actuating mechanism. The actuating mechanism for the switching element (6) is formed by a pivoting lever (7) resting on a lateral edge of the panel (4), the pivoting lever (7) pressing on the switching element (6) in the normal state of the manual call point and holding the switching element (6) in a closed position. When the panel (4) is smashed the pivoting lever (7) pivots, so the switching element (6) is opened. The switching element (6) is arranged on the printed-circuit board (3) and comprises a flexible end switch. The manual call point also contains a device for triggering a test alarm comprising a switching lever (9) to displace the panel (4) until the pivoting lever (7) is released and comprises a member (10) to actuate the switching lever (9).

  • Patent number: 6653581
Abstract: A device for closing the door of an electric household appliance, in particular a dishwasher, includes a latch that is fitted in rotary manner to the door to cooperate with a catch fixed to the electric household appliance, and is connected to a switch, acting on a circuit of the electric household appliance, by a control lever cooperating with a contact on the switch. The control lever is hinged directly to a support fitted integrally to the door, and is connected to the latch by an elastic element, which keeps the control lever resting permanently on the contact and activates the switch as soon as the latch begins rotating when the door is opened, thus eliminating any dangerous delay in stoppage of the electric household appliance.

  • Patent number: 6600397
Abstract: A device for controlling an electric appliance having a door, a main power circuit, and a switch for automatically shutting off the main circuit when the door is opened the switch is a reactivatable magnetic switch, which selectively assumes a closed position and an open position respectively closing and opening the main circuit. The magnetic switch is powered by an activating circuit, which is cut off when the door is opened and a movable part of a hinge supporting the door is rotated. When the activating circuit is cut off, the magnetic switch is moved into the open position by the actin of a spring which keeps the magnetic switch in the open position even when the activating circuit is closed again. The user, after closing the door, must reactivate the magnetic switch by pressing a push-button to move the magnetic switch into the closed position.

  • Publication number: 20030015408
Abstract: An improved magnetic switch (10) is provided which is designed for use in an alarm circuit (52) in order to detect relative movement between first and second members such as a door (14) and frame (12), so as to signal unauthorized opening of the door (14). The switch (10) includes a switch assembly for mounting in frame (12) and having first and second switch elements (40,42), a permanently magnetized, shiftable body (44) adjacent the elements (40,42), and a first attractive component (36). Additionally, the switch (10) has a second attractive component (22) for mounting to the door (14), which is in the form of a ferromagnetic component such as a permanent magnet (50) or steel plate (60). In use when door (14) is closed and circuit (52) is armed, the magnetic attraction between body (44) and component (22) shifts the body (44) to a switch-closed position in simultaneous contact with the switch elements (40, 42).
