Abstract: A package comprises a cover closing an article housing formed in a baseplate. A contiguous compartment closed by a plate contains a spring assembly comprising two arc members joined at their ends and bearing on abutment members. A profiled rod inserted through a complementarily profiled opening pushes on thrust member against the abutment of the ends of the spring assembly on the abutment members so as to bring about, by symmetrical reaction, retraction of the bar supporting the bolt members. However, if a fly-weight has not previously been retracted by a magnetic field a projection engages in a groove in the fly-weight to lock the lock. The consecutive action of the magnetic field and the pressure on thrust member are applied by a key device retained at the checkout of the self-service store. Abstract: Easy opening article storing and dispensing containers and method in which puzzle-like locking means secure against access to the container contents by very young children by obscuring the mode of opening it. The cannular container shell has closable dispensing aperture means opening through the shell side wall. Locking means at one or more ends of the shell optionally prevents or permits opening and closing of the container by alignment or offset of release means with respect to a sliding means. Pills or other units may be segregated in separate amounts or dosages within the container and dispensed in predetermined sequence from a plurality of rings of radially openable compartments forming a stack in which rows of compartments around the container axis can be rotated to sequentially register with the aperture means and compartments of each row sequentially opened.

  • Patent number: 4365711
Abstract: A video cassette packaging device including a single molded plastic part 10 having four living hinges 28, 50, 72 and 74 which allow the part to be folded along such hinges to provide a container having two push-button type latches 14 and 16 which are resiliently held in the locked position by a single biasing element 12. The latching components 14 and 16 automatically engage the closure portion 18 of the container as it is closed about a cassette and urge the closure portion toward its open position when the two latching buttons are simultaneously depressed. The exterior of the container is configured to be aesthetically pleasing while at the same time having provisions for receiving mailing labels and for matingly interacting with storage racks presently on the market.
