Abstract: A package having an improved means for releasably retaining the components of the package in assembly. Known similar package constructions require the use of additional material and necessitate the performance of additional manufacturing operations in order to provide closure flaps situated at opposite ends of a sleeve which is adapted to support a removable tray therein. The package according to the subject invention is of relatively simple construction, as well as being more economical than known similar packages. According to the subject invention, the improved package comprises a container and an enclosure having at least one open end. The container is adapted to be inserted into or removed from the enclosure through at least one open end thereof.

Abstract: Improvement in a safety container for medicine having a cap and bottle, the cap constructed in relation to the bottle such that in one position thereof the cap can be lifted off the bottle and in another position thereof the cap cannot be removed from the bottle, the improvement comprising a detent associated with the cap, the detent moveable in respect to the cap and having a lock and unlock position in respect thereto, a cooperative arrangement on the bottle capable of engaging with the detent to lock the cap on the bottle, and a manually actuable handle on the cap capable of moving the detent between lock and unlock positions thereof the detent being flexible, the handle operative during actuation thereof to flex the detent to move it between its lock and unlock positions.

Abstract: A matchbook folder having a safety interlock between the lid and the base; the base portion of the folder has a double-fold end and the lid portion has a single-fold end which interlock with each other to prevent opening the folder except by a lateral sliding action of the lid relative to the base and permitting closing of the folder by a longitudinal downward movement of the lid relative to the base.

Abstract: A moisture proof safety container for pills and the like in which a drawer moves slidably in a rectangular cover, snap-locking closed by means of a latching mechanism comprising a hooked tongue which engages a small window in the upper left-hand corner of the cover. The drawer, including the hooked tongue, is guided into latching position with the cover by means of a fulcrum point located on the inside of the cover which bears against one side of the drawer. When the drawer is closed a small projection at the center of the cover seats on the bottom of the drawer, cooperating with a small bead around the rim of the drawer, and small feet in the corners, to produce a moisture proof seal.

Abstract: A container for pharmaceutical products has an un-removable dummy cap formation at one end, and an insert received in the other end, the insert having a hollow portion for receiving the end of an adult's finger so that the insert may be removed by deformation by digital pressure. The insert is so constructed as to be un-removable by a small child, who will in any case attempt unsuccessfully to remove the dummy cap rather than the insert.

Abstract: A safety matchbook is constructed with the usual front cover which tucks beneath a lower flap to close the matchbook. A ridge mounted on the underside of the flap is provided with a central opening. A projection mounted on the front cover at an off center location fits through the opening in order to interlock with the ridge and latch the matchbook in its closed position. To open the matchbook, the cover must be flexed laterally and simultaneously pushed downwardly to pass the projection by a stop member. The flap must then be raised in order to permit the projection to clear a ramp structure located within the ridge opening.

Abstract: A container is provided with a base attachable and lockable to a capped medicine or other bottle. The base is telescopically fitted with a top having an opening aligned with the cap on the bottle. A strong spring urges the top away from the base so that normally the cap is spaced below the opening. Only a considerable amount of compressive force calculated to be exertable only by an adult will telescope the container against the resistance offered by the spring to project the cap through the opening to a position where the cap can be unscrewed and the contents of the bottle removed.

Abstract: A bait box for carrying fishing material and the like including a rectangular box having a pair of oppositely disposed hinged doors and a central compartment. Each of the doors is designed to be opened when a respective door is disposed as the upper horizontal surface of the box through cooperation with an internal weighted drum. The drum includes a slot through a flange which cooperates with a projection on each of the doors to permit a door to be opened when oriented as the upper surface of the box. In other orientations, the doors are locked in a closed position by cooperation between the flange provided on the drum and either of the projections. The drum includes a weight which always orients the slot formed in the flange at an uppermost position in all orientations of the box to permit opening of either of the doors when disposed on the top of the box.

Abstract: A Child Resistant Sliding Panel supported in a runner by springs, having tabs on the panel which enter into holes in the runner when the panel is pressed to a greater distance then is necessary to pass a barrier which normally restricts the movement if the panel, and a back-up tab on the runner and hole in the runner to further prevent the panel from sliding if the force exerted on the panel further along the runner becomes excessive.

Abstract: A sliding cover safety package including a container having a cover mounted thereon for slidable movement between open and closed positions with respect to the container. The container and cover are provided with locking lugs having a locked position when the cover is closed in which the cover is locked against movement from its closed position with respect to the container, and an unlocked position when the cover is closed in which the cover can slide with respect to the container to its open position. The locking lugs are movable between the locked and unlocked positions by axial movement of the cover with respect to the container. Resilient biasing members is engaged between the container and cover to bias the locking lugs to the locked position such that the cover can slide from its closed position with respect to the container only after axial movement of the cover with respect to the container against the biasing members.

Abstract: A transparent security container for an article to be displayed, such as a tape cassette. The container includes an anti-theft device such as a microwave reradiator which triggers an alarm if it enters a microwave field. The container includes a pair of spaced key slots associated with clips for retaining the cassette. A release device at the checkout station permits easy release of the cassette. The container may then be reused.
