Abstract: A removable protector for protecting a thermally responsive member of a sprinkler head includes first and second shields each having protective surfaces. The protective surfaces are positioned to protect portions of the thermally responsive members that are exposed to potential contact with objects that are external to the sprinkler head. Each of the shields has a receiving end which slides over the sprinkler head during attachment of the protector. Each of the shields also has a connecting end attached to a cross member which connects the two shields and which provides an appropriate amount of spacing between the shields to permit clearance for accommodating various sprinkler head components when the protector is attached to the sprinkler head. A releasable fastener attaches the protector to the sprinkler head and secures the major protective surfaces of the first and second shields proximate the exposed portion of the thermally responsive member of the sprinkler head.

  • Patent number: 6626423
Abstract: A combination for use with a vehicle jack constructed and arranged to affect raising and lowering movements of the vehicle. The combination comprises an elongated rigid jack operating tool and a longitudinal entry tool retainer. The tool retainer is fixedly mounted to the vehicle. The tool retainer has a tool receiving space and a resiliently movable tool engaging structure providing a tool engaging surface. The tool and the tool retainer enable the tool to be mounted to the tool retainer by moving the tool in the longitudinal direction into the tool receiving space. The tool contacts the tool engaging structure and urges the tool engaging structure against the resiliency thereof to accommodate ingress of the tool into the tool receiving space. The tool engaging structure thereafter forcibly engages the tool engaging surface against an exterior surface of the tool to frictionally inhibit movement of the tool in the longitudinal direction thereof.

Abstract: A storage device, e.g., for a shaving razor and replacement cartridges, including a base member having at least one storage compartment, and one or more sealed packages that are each located in a respective storage compartment. The sealed package contains a shaving cartridge including a plastic housing and a plurality of blades. Each compartment provides a retention force, e.g., by opposed members, to retain a respective package within the compartment with a retention force that is less than a peeling force needed to initiate peeling of a cover layer sealably connected to the stored package. The cover has shaving razor engagement structure for carrying a razor on an external surface of the cover.

Abstract: A display pack having a rotatable security member includes a board and the rotatable security member wherein the board has a first hole and a second hole respectively defined therein and an inverted U-shaped frame extends perpendicularly from a front surface of the board with the second hole being located between two extending portions of the inverted U-shaped frame. The second hole has a toothed inner periphery and the rotatable security member includes a polygonal head and a shank which has a flange extending from a free end thereof and a toothed periphery defined in an outer periphery near the flange so that the rotatable security member is rotatably inserted into the second hole with the toothed inner periphery engaged with the toothed inner periphery. A ratchet tool is engaged with the rotatable security member and can be operated within a limited angle between the two extending portions of the frame.

Abstract: A rake storage system to store a rake adjacent a sand trap of a golf course, and to selectively elevate the rake for use, includes an elongated container to be disposed underground adjacent the sand trap in a substantially vertical orientation. A rake is removably disposed within the elongated container. A mechanical lifting mechanism is disposed in the elongated container to elevate the rake. A releasable retaining mechanism is disposed in the container to retain the rake in the container, and includes a lip formed in the container, and a protrusion disposed on the rake near the distal end adjacent the rake head. The protrusion is engagable with the lip to retain the rake in the container when the rake is disposed in the container. A flange can be formed about the inside of the container. A collar can be disposed around the rake near a distal end adjacent a rake head to engage the flange when the rake is received within the container to substantially close the container below the flange and the collar.

Abstract: A container device useful for selling nozzle heads for an irrigation system having various vertical sprinklers is disclosed. The container device has a tubular cylinder with an attachment end, an opposite open end and an exterior surface. The tubular cylinder is made of plastic and the attachment end is attached to a nozzle head. The nozzle head has a cylindrical base which mates with the attachment end of the tubular cylinder via a contact fit or screw-in threads. A debris screen for use with the nozzle head is fit within the tubular cylinder. The combination tubular cylinder and nozzle head allows inexpensive and simple packaging for the nozzle heads. The container device may be put on retail display with a gravity feed dispenser allowing dispensing of single containers for a consumer.

The scabbard also has an opening along one side to allow visibility of the side of the chain saw bar and any markings, including branding, on the chain saw bar. The chain saw case is designed to be fabricated using injection-molding techniques. Because the scabbard collapses, and the injection molded case offers ample space not afforded in all existing blow molded chain saw cases, the scabbard can be placed inside the case during shipment reducing shipping cost and space required while in distribution.
