  • Patent number: 4671409
Abstract: A light-tight, self-contained canister for preventing a roll of core wound photosensitive media, used in a microfiche or microfilm reader-printer, from being damaged or exposed to actinic light during shipping, storing and dispensing. The canister includes an open ended opaque tubular sleeve closed at both ends by opaque end caps lockingly interconnected by a rigid tie bar extending longitudinally between the end caps along the core of the photosensitive media. At least one end of the tie bar includes a pair of resilient fingers. The fingers deform upon pressure engagement with a central receiving aperture formed in the end cap. Each end cap also includes a hub portion sized to rotatively support the roll of core wound media within the canister. Also, in an alternative embodiment, the fingers may be associated with the aperture and deformable upon engagement with the tie bar.

  • Patent number: 4519502
Abstract: A wire rack for supporting a box or carton containing a roll of flexible plastic bags with the rack being capable of quick and easy supporting engagement with the upper edge of a trash receptacle, janitorial cart and the like. In one embodiment, the wire rack is curved in a manner to conform with and engage the upper open end of a large waste receptacle of cylindrical configuration. In another embodiment, the wire rack is straight for mounting on the upper end of a maid's or janitor's cart. In both embodiments of the invention, the wire rack includes a locking arrangement by which opposite legs of the rack which straddle the box or carton will lockingly engage with a slotted end of the carton with the inner end of the locking arrangement being inserted into the hollow core on which the roll of plastic bags are wound.

  • Patent number: 4204479
Abstract: A removable cover and containment means for a single truck bed mounted coil of sheet steel or the like. The cover is rigid, generally semicylindrical in shape and is adapted to fit over a standard sized coil of steel. The cover is further adapted so that after it has been placed over the steel coil a removable core member can be run through one side of the cover and the center of the steel coil and then firmly secured to another side of the cover so that any unwinding slippage of the coil will be effectively contained. In a preferred embodiment of this invention, the core member is secured to one side of the cover by means of screw threads and a portion of that core member pushes a friction brake element against the steel coil so that any angular unwinding or slippage of the coil will tighten the core member into the screw retainer and thereby increase the braking force applied to the coil and automatically restrain incipient unwinding.

  • Patent number: RE33646
Abstract: A dispensing pouch containing premeasured laundry compositions comprises a flexible, porous pouch having a plurality of valves or supplementary openings along its edges. The dispensing pouch permits rapid dispersion of a highly soluble laundry detergent through the pouch valves, which open as the pouch is compressed during laundry agitation in a machine washer. Washer-resistant fabric softener/antistatic chips larger than the pouch valve openings remain inside the pouch through wet cycles, to be dispensed as they melt and wick through the porous pouch fabric in a machine dryer.
