Abstract: A bobbin (1) of plastic has a cylinder (2) and, formed integrally therewith, circumferential end flanges (3) and is made of a U-shaped channel. Each end flange (3) consists of a plurality of spaced-apart, essentially radial flange elements (4) which are distributed along the circumference of the cylinder (2). In a method of manufacturing such a bobbin, a U-shaped channel is made by injection moulding. The U shaped channel is given such a shape that its side walls consist of a plurality of spaced-apart wall elements which are distributed along the length of the channel. The channel is bent to form the cylinder (2) and its ends are connected with each other in this bent position.
Abstract: A container for a line or cable for towing an aerial target, the container having a streamlined cylindrical body stowed under the towing airplane, with an open rear extremity into which the cable cartridge or loader is inserted. A pyrotechnical release device located near this rear extremity permits release of the line after the towing maneuver is completed. The loader is a tubular casing in which a piston is frictionally mounted. The cable is coiled in the casing on top of the piston. The front and rear ends of the cable project from the rear extremity of the loader.
Abstract: A wound roll of a strip of fibrous material having a first end portion forming an innermost plurality of superimposed contiguous layers and a second end portion forming an outermost plurality of superimposed contiguous layers, a plurality of punctures defined in each of the end portions, each puncture being characterized by a burr projected therefrom into interlocked relation with a puncture defined in an adjacent layer, whereby the end portions of the strip are secured together in the roll, and a method of forming the same.
