Abstract: The present invention relates apparatus for holding material to be dispensed in a surgical setting, and in particular that: (a) allows for small portions of material to be dispensed efficiently, (b) resists evaporation of volatile agents in the material being dispensed, (c) reduces exposure of the material to light and actinic radiation during intermittent use, and (d) supports autoclaving in order to fulfill sterilization standards in surgical setting.

Abstract: A mouthrinse containing chitosan or pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof with fluoride ions, for use against erosive tooth demineralization, and kits containing chitosan or pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof with fluoride ions, wherein one of the two active agents is comprised in a mouthrinse, are described. The mouthrinse may furthermore comprise dissolved tin, in particular stannous ions. Mouthrinses containing chitosan or pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salt thereof with fluoride ions are tested in the treatment or prevention of erosive tooth demineralisation caused by citric acid.

Abstract: A container (10) for mixing components, the container including a main body (12) defining a main chamber (17), a liquid receptacle (16), and a plunger (18). The main chamber has a distal end (26) which has an end cap (28). The main chamber also includes a central aperture (30) sealed by a frangible membrane (38). In use, the plunger causes liquid in the liquid receptacle to be pushed through an internal wall (22), having a weakened portion (24) therein, into the main chamber to mix the liquid with a powder contained in the main chamber. The liquid and powder are mixed to form a paste that is accessed by an applicator which is used to break the frangible membrane (38). The paste is preferably of the type used in dentistry.

Each contact edge also has a feature mating with a like feature of an opposed contact edge to produce a mounting aperture for supporting a medical/dental device within the contained space. A cap section has a closed end and an open end that engages the support section to maintain the first and second opposed clamshell halves in a closed condition and to enclose an exterior portion of the medical/dental device supported in the mounting aperture of the support section.

Abstract: Orthodontic assemblies and related methods are provided where an adhesive coated orthodontic appliance is received in a container that includes a substrate and a lid having a retaining member. When the lid is closed, the retaining member is complemental to the shape of the appliance and engages with the appliance. By conforming to the shape of the appliance, the retaining member constrains the appliance from shifting in lateral and vertical directions within the container. When the lid is opened, the associated retaining member disengages from the appliance, thereby facilitating user access to the appliance.

These dispensing devices and methods allow the user to quickly and easily obtain a desired size of a strip or segment applied to the orthodontic appliance to shield the user's mouth so that the strips or segments are immediately ready for use and take the mess and guesswork out of preparing and applying the pain management material to the sites needed. The invention consists of wax, polymer or other biocompatible flexible material formed into either strips or individual pieces. These strips or individual pieces are applied to the orthodontic appliance to shield the user's mouth from painful contact with components of an orthodontic appliance.

Abstract: The present document describes a storage box for at least one of a dental prosthesis and a dental appliance. The storage box comprises: a container portion capable of holding a liquid; a holding area substantially within the container portion and for placing the at least one of a dental prosthesis and a dental appliance; a cover for placing over the container portion; and an external covering material substantially covering the container portion and the cover. In another embodiment, a separator divides the holding area in two or more parts. In another embodiment, the cover comprises a groove in which a seal can be lodged to hermetically seal the opening upon closure of the cover. The cover may also have a lip to hold liquid in the cover until the cover is sufficiently closed to release the liquid into the container.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a composition for the conditioning of a dental mineralized surface and/or a dental implant and/or for increasing the hydrophilicity of a dental implant having a metal containing surface. The composition comprises EDTA in a concentration of about 21-55% by weight and hydrogen peroxide at a concentration of about 2-4% by weight. The composition of the invention may be used for the conditioning of mineralized dental surfaces and dental implant surfaces in order to remove e.g. biofilm, debris, bacteria, bacterial toxins etc and/or for increasing the hydrophilicity of an implant having a metal containing surface. The invention is also directed to a kit comprising the composition of the invention and a device to apply the composition to a surface in need of conditioning.

Abstract: A dental slurry is used with a digital camera to create a three dimensional model of target teeth. The dental slurry includes granular particles suspended in a pharmacologically acceptable carrier. The slurry is used to cover target teeth with a large number of particles. Overlapping digital images are taken of the target teeth and provided to a computer. An algorithm is used to find a correspondence for each feature in the overlapping digital images by error analysis. Once enough correspondences are found, the algorithm creates a three dimensional electronic model from the plurality of two dimensional images based on a best fit error analysis.

Abstract: A hygienic container that stores various personal care items in a clean, hygienic, and inconspicuous manner is disclosed. The hygienic container includes an inner compartment accessible by means of a hinged door. The inner compartment has multiple drain holes from which fluids can drain as well as various means for storing personal items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, and charging bases. An opening in the back of the inner compartment allows access for electrical cords used in charging various personal items. One or more surfaces or parts thereof comprise magnets such that magnetic items and/or items that include ferrous metals can be attached thereto. Abstract: Implementations of the present invention include methods, devices, and systems that provide effective packaging items with at least one gummy surface. In particular, implementations of the present invention provide a package for items with a gummy surface that does not require a separate liner to be placed on the gummy surface. In example implementations, the package includes inadhesive polymers such that the item can be removeably adhered to a portion of the package.
