Abstract: A water flushing system for a pressurized subterranean water distribution system includes an inlet conduit for receiving pressurized water from the subterranean water distribution system; an outlet fluidly connected to the inlet conduit for discharging pressurized water in the inlet conduit downwardly towards a drain; and a control valve for controlling the flow of pressurized water in the inlet conduit. The water flushing system further includes one or more of the following features: a freeze protection assembly, a detachable coupling system, a dechlorination system, and a backflow prevention system.
Abstract: An apparatus, system and method for removing and treating contaminated materials on a bottom of a body of water and introducing growth packets to revitalize the treated bottom of the body of water. The structure may comprise a vessel with an open face. The vessel may be lowered down to the bottom of the body of water with the face facing down. As a result, the vessel and the bottom form an isolated space. The structure may comprise at least one agitating device(s) for stirring up the materials inside the vessel so as to form a mixture containing the sediment materials which in turn contain the contaminants. Multiple at least one pipe(s) may be coupled to the vessel for transporting the mixture out of the vessel for processing (filtering, treating with chemicals, etc.) so as to neutralize or eliminate the contaminants in the mixture. Then, the treated mixture can be returned to the inside of the vessel via the at least one pipe(s).
Abstract: A system for collecting the flow of sand or sediment in a current comprising a catch basin, comprising a base structure having a bottom and a plurality of angled side walls, said bottom having at least one aperture, an external pipe affixed at a first end to the at least one aperture, at least two guides affixed to one or more ends of the catch basin to direct sand and sediment into the catch basin, each of said guides comprising a chute with curved sidewalls extending substantially parallel to the flow of current and a pumping system affixed to the second end of the external pipe to remove the sediment or sand from the basin.
Abstract: Rain water is drained from a golf course sand bunker or like structure by a drainage system which comprises a conduit having a solid top and perforations in the sidewall. A conduit which is a chamber having an arch shape cross section is contained within a sand filled trench running along the bottom of a bunker. Water flows downwardly from the bunker into the trench, passing through opposing side trapezoid cross section spaces which are defined between the outwardly angled chamber sidewalls and the essentially vertical trench sidewalls. The water then flows horizontally into the conduit. Geotextile, in combination with downward sloping louvers which define slot perforations in the chamber sidewalls, hinders flow of sand into the interior of the chamber. The arch shape of the preferred conduit frees the trench bottom of vertical soil-compressive load and enables it to be fully exposed for water penetration.
Abstract: A water treatment system for treating coal-bed-methane (CBM) water. The CBM water treatment system includes a pump system for pumping CBM water from one or many CBM wells into a common reservoir and a solid-based sulfurous generator that produces aqueous sulfurous acid to treat the CBM water and an injection system that increases the amount of calcium contained in CBM water. In one embodiment, the injection system is a gypsum injector that injects soluble gypsum into the CBM water. Moreover, in one embodiment, the solid-based sulfurous generator includes a hydraulic air inlet shut off valve safety system for automatically reducing the combustion air to the sulfurous generator when water is not delivered to the solid-based sulfurous generator.
