  • Patent number: 4559138
Abstract: The disclosure concerns a hollow cylindrical filter cartridge composed of an annular pleated filter medium surrounding a central perforated plastic tube, the ends of which cartridge and tube are embedded into plastic annular discs for closing the ends of the pleats of the filter media and providing an internal centrally threaded socket adjacent the inside of said perforated tube, which socket has an inner integrally projecting shoulder. Continuous outwardly threaded plastic nipples having a length of slightly more than twice the depth of said sockets to their shoulders provide connections between adjacent axially aligned cartridges which are sealed together by the abutment of the ends of said nipples against said shoulders. A plastic internally threaded cap having a depth greater than half the length of said nipples, may be threaded on the outer end of a nipple extending from a cartridge for closing that end.

  • Patent number: 4543184
Abstract: A cake filtration apparatus in a structural unit which comprises a plate filter and a filtering aid-dosing device which includes an agitator. The drive parts for rotating the filter unit are disposed on the top wall of the filter housing, and are connected with the drive of the agitator by means of a transmission device and a freewheel coupling. The shaft of the filter unit is only sealingly and rotatably mounted in the vicinity of the bottom of the housing. The bottom plate, the height of which is adjustable for removal of the centrifuged filter cake, is constructed in the manner of a disk valve having a valve seat, and can be raised and lowered independently of the filter unit, so that for centrifuging and removal of the filter cake, the filter unit no longer has to be raised or in some other manner moved out of its operating position.

  • Patent number: 4539114
Abstract: A horizontal rotary table filter includes a device connecting the filter table to the carrier structure which provides freedom of movement between the two in the radial direction, to thereby maintain the filter table in a substantially planar condition under adverse operating conditions. The device preferably includes a radially oriented slideway connected to one of the table and the carrier structure, and slide shoes or rollers connected to the other of the table and the structure and disposed within the slideway. In addition to enabling relative radial movement, the device is so constructed as to provide a space between the table and the structure and thereby thermally insulate one from the other. Also disclosed is a more stable carrier structure which includes circumferential and diagonal connecting members disposed between adjacent radial gussets.

  • Patent number: 4521308
Abstract: Concurrent operation of a sizable number of vacuum filtration units is facilitated by a rotatable carrier stand. Any selected one of the units may readily be turned to a position convenient to the operator without interruption of the vacuum connections and without entanglement of vacuum lines. Components of the filtration units may then be manipulated with a reduced risk of breakage, spillage or inadvertent disconnection of vacuum lines. Installation and removal of a filtration unit may be accomplished very quickly and simply with the use of only one hand in some cases. Simultaneous filtering operations may be performed more efficiently particularly within enclosures such as fume hoods, glove boxes or the like which otherwise restrict access to the filtration units by an operator.

  • Patent number: 4376049
Abstract: A dynamic filtering system as described in which particulates are separated from a fluid as the fluid is moved by centrifugal force through filtering elements. A rotor mechanism received the fluid initially through a central inlet opening. Liquid-solid admixture introduced through the shaft is flowed radially outward subjected to centrifugal acceleration, and forced back through the screen under pressure with particles too large to pass the screen remaining on its outboard side.
