  • Patent number: 11583073
    Abstract: A shelf support beam (80, 130, 200) for use in a shelving unit (10) to support a shelf (22). A structural member (82, 132, 202) has a C-shaped cross-section. A web (94, 144, 216) separates a top flange (96, 146, 220) from a bottom flange (112, 162, 234). The top flange (96, 146, 220) is configured to support the shelf (22). The web (94, 144, 216), the top flange (96, 146, 220), and the bottom flange (112, 162, 234) define a channel (92, 142, 214) of the member (82, 132, 202). The channel (92, 142, 214) defines a cavity height (C1, D1, E1). The top flange (96, 146, 220) and the bottom flange (112, 162, 234) define a top flange width (C2, D2, E2) and a bottom flange width (C3, D3, E3), respectively. A ratio of the cavity height (C1, D1, E1) to a sum of the top flange width (C2, D2, E2) and the bottom flange width (C3, D3, E3) is greater than 1, is at least 1.20, or is about 1.40. The C-shaped cross-section has a moment of inertia (98, 148, 238) of greater than 0.40, greater than 0.45, or at least 0.46.

Abstract: A storage and handling system for industrial sheet goods and bar stocks comprises a plurality of vertically stacked slide sets supported in a framework so that a rear half of the framework comprises an storage bay and a front half comprises a utilization bay. A material storage pallet is slidably disposed in each said slide set. The depth of each pallet is designed so that when pushed rearwardly into the storage bay region of the framework, the entire utilization bay is clear and open. As a result, when any one pallet is pulled into the utilization bay, workers can easily access the raw materials stored on that pallet. The system may be paired with a roller cart configured to transfer one of the pallets to and from the framework. The utilization bay is open from above to accommodate a crane-operated load lifter.

  • Patent number: 9254525
Abstract: A tool holder has a chuck portion with a retaining bore in which a cutting tool can be inserted. The tool has flat surfaces extending from its end, and a circumferential groove at rear ends of the flat surfaces. When the tool is inserted into the retaining bore, first protrusions of the tool holder pass through spaces between the flat surfaces and the inner wall of the retaining bore and fitted in the groove. When the tool is turned, the protrusions move in and engage the side edges of the groove, thus preventing the tool from pulling out of the chuck portion. When the first protrusions are fitted in the groove, second protrusions of the tool holder are located on the flat surfaces. When the tool is turned, the second protrusions are received in ends of the respective spaces, thereby preventing rotation of the tool relative to the chuck portion.
