  • Patent number: 7172083
Abstract: A mobile hydraulic hoist unit which is readily maneuverable to a position straddling a load and then conveniently operated to lift and securely transport such load over a variety of terrains and surfaces and to safely and accurately deposit that load at a specific location. The hoist unit comprises a generally “U” shaped base frame having spaced side members provided with multi-terrain wheel assemblies, a closed forward end having a hitch member for releasable attachment to a towing vehicle, a rearwardly open center section adapted to receive and straddle the load, a power cylinder, a boom operated by the power cylinder for lifting and securely holding the load in a transport position during movement of the hoist unit and for accurately depositing the load at the desired destination.

  • Patent number: 6685039
Abstract: An outrigger assembly for support of a mobile crane or excavator upon the ground, includes a plurality of outriggers mounted to a vehicle frame and having free ends, wherein each of the outriggers has a ground-engaging pad connected to the free ends for vertical movement in relation to the ground. Each of the outriggers has at least one outrigger arm unit movable with respect to the vehicle frame between an idle position suitable for travel between sites, and an operative position suitable for support on the ground, wherein the outrigger arm unit includes an outrigger arm made of a hollow profile which has a lower part of U-shaped configuration and an upper part of calotte-shaped configuration.

  • Patent number: 6138845
Abstract: An automotive vehicle, in particular crane vehicle, has a chassis comprising a framework provided in the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. A slew ring is supported on the framework, and a superstructure which can be slewed relative to the chassis rests on the slew ring, in which superstructure a telescoping crane boom is provided. The vehicle comprises a 4-point-support, two points of support thereof being provided in the course of the longitudinal central axis of the vehicle and the two other points of support being provided at outrigger beams which are mounted in the region of the support of the slew ring, which can be extended in opposite directions transverse to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle and swivelled transverse to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. This outrigger construction is only subject to bending in the crane operation and therefore does not have to be dimensioned with respect to torsional stresses.
