Plural Booms Patents (Class 212/311)
  • Patent number: 11525229
Abstract: A jack-up crane vessel or semi-submersible crane vessel is provided including a hull with a deck, and a crane on the hull for hoisting a load outside the deck. The crane includes a slewing crane base with a first suspension, an elongated boom that is rotatable around a horizontal rotation axis with respect to the first suspension, at least two pendants between the boom and the first suspension that mutually converge toward the distal boom section, a boom spacer between the boom and the first suspension, and a boom luffing installation for driving the rotation of the boom around the horizontal rotation axis between a lowered transport position and a raised operational position. In the direction of the vertical rotation axis the first suspension extends at least in the lowered transport position of the boom above the boom heel of the boom.

  • Patent number: 10308485
Abstract: An offshore platform lifting device for lifting operations at sea after sailed to a certain position of a sea surface includes an upper deck, a plurality of upright columns, a rail seat, a base disposed on the rail seat, two davit arms, two first winches, and two second winches. The upper deck has a lower pontoon. The upright columns are connected between to the upper deck and the lower pontoon. Each upright column is provided with a support leg that is longitudinally inserted through the upright column, thereby positioning the offshore platform lifting device on the seabed through the upright columns. The two davit arms are disposed the base and drives the base to move laterally through a pushing device. The two second winches each have a second cable passing through the two davit arms. A hook is disposed at a distal end of the second cable.

  • Publication number: 20090261052
Abstract: A method of deploying an object (14) onto the seabed in very deep water from a vessel having a heave compensated deck crane (12), comprises lowering the object a distance into the sea while being suspended in the crane wire (16). In an initial step, a first fibre rope section (4a) of a first length is connected to the object (14) via a first connector (3a) on the object before the lowering is started and is freely run out supporting from a storage reel (13) during the descent. Subsequently, the first rope section is the object via a second connector (3b) located at the upper end of the first rope section (4a), the second connector being supported by a support mechanism (1) on the vessel deck (8), followed by off-loading the crane wire (16) and disconnecting it from the object and heaving it up said first length for connection to the second connector (3b) at the vessel deck and taking over the load of the object.
