Abstract: A cap for a container with a hinged lid includes a first part and a second part that are snap-associated. The first part has a lower cylindrical portion and an upper cylindrical portion, and the second part includes a covering lid having an annular portion and a lid portion and a hinge arrangement therebetween, which includes a strip arranged in a window opening formed in the side surface of the lid portion and open towards the annular portion. The strip has weakened foldable end areas connected to the annular and lid portions, and a folding invitation line that divides the strip into two portions with a central recess therebetween. Folding invitation lines are also provided between the two portions of the strip and an end edge of the opening in the lid portion.

At the periphery of the top deck the sidewall forms or provides a raised lip. The lid closes onto the top deck and is bounded by the lip and the lid is generally flush with the lip when in the closed position.

Abstract: A method of over-molding materials includes: providing a first material in a groove in a first portion of a mold such that only a single surface of the first material is exposed to a vacant portion of the mold; providing, via an injection molding process, a second material in a liquid form in the vacant portion of the mold adjacent to, and in engagement with, the first material; and allowing the second material to solidify and become directly coupled to the first material, thus forming a single component. The second material has one or both of a greater hardness when solidified than the first material and/or a higher melting temperature than the first material.

A tab is formed at a hinge location from the band and extending from the lower edge of the skirt to a pair of co-linear slits in the band separated by a frangible member. The tab is bounded by a pair of slits extending from the lower edge of the skirt to the pair of co-linear slits, with each of the pair of slits being separated from a respective first co-linear slit by a respective frangible member.

The lid comprises retention means for non-frangibly holding the band in the first position in an initial closed position, and as the lid is moved towards the open position the band is released from the retention means and moves to the second position.

Abstract: A tamper-evident device for valves comprises: an anti-theft buckle (1), provided with an anti-theft buckle body (17), a pulling portion (4), a tearable portion (5), an elastic hook (7), and a position limiting surface (6); an anti-theft cover (2), provided with a position limiting contour (8) and a hook receiving portion (9); and a position limiting slot (10) provided at a passage outlet (13) of a valve body (3). During use, the anti-theft cover (2) is connected to the passage outlet (13), and the elastic hook (7) is hooked to the hook receiving portion (9) and fitted to position limiting slot (10) to limit relative positions of the anti-theft cover (2) and the valve body (3). Also disclosed is a valve having the temper-evident device. The temper-evident device is easy to open and can effectively prevent stored materials from being stolen.

An opening is provided to allow contents within the bottle to exit. A partition extends around the opening to define a passage for the contents. The cover has a top portion with a channel in communication with the passage and a channel mouth such that contents in the bottle exits when the cover is in an opened configuration. The cover has a divider positioned about the channel entrance and sized to seal against the partition when the cover is in a closed configuration. The cover is sized to fit within the shell when in the closed configuration and the cover pivots to an opened configuration exposing the channel mouth to allow contents to flow from the bottle.

A platform member carries the cosmetic product, and can move in the manner of a float between the base and lid assembly. A cam mechanism on the window in the form of depending lugs, cooperates with camming ramps on the platform member. Exteriorly accessible manually engageable grip members connected with the platform member, allow the latter to be rotated with the lid assembly closed. Such rotation effects a tightening of the seal between the window and the platform member, by virtue of the action of the window lugs on the platform member's camming ramps. Improved seal between the window and the platform member is accomplished by virtue of such tightening. In addition, the arrangement is such that the compact can be locked against inadvertent opening, simultaneously with the tightening and sealing action on the platform member.

An overlay portion associated with the cap is adapted for use to lift the cap from a container to unseat it. The overlay portion has a thumb tab and is deformable to engage and lift the seated cap only when the thumb tab is lifted. The overlay portion raises independently of the cap when the deformable portion is not deformed into engagement with the cap. Alternatively, a lift-top cap having a slot through it, the slot having a first opening near an edge of the cap to be lifted to unseat the cap and a second opening. A slide in the slot has a first end biased to be flush with or recessed into the first opening and a second end biased to normally protrude out of the second opening. The second end of the slide can be depressed against the bias of the slide to displace the first end of the slide out of the first opening to function as a thumb tab to assist in lifting the cap from a container.
