  • Patent number: 11192700
Abstract: Child-resistant containers or packages having spinning collar cap assemblies are provided, as are methods for manufacturing such containers. In various embodiments, the child-resistant container includes a container body having an inner cavity, an opening to the inner cavity, and a container neck circumscribing the opening. A spinning collar is retained around the container neck and is rotatable relative thereto in at least a first rotational direction. The child-resistant container further includes an overcap, which is sized and shaped to enclose the opening when attached to the spinning collar. Through the provision of a suitable threaded interface the overcap can be (i) detached from the spinning collar by rotation of the overcap relative to the spinning collar in the first rotational direction and (ii) removably attached to the spinning collar by rotation of the overcap relative to the spinning collar in a second rotational direction opposite the first rotational direction.

  • Patent number: 10000316
Abstract: A collapsible container is provided with a one-way valve. The valve comprises a cupola shaped slitted membrane forming a closure head to allow dispensing a liquid contained in the container by opening the membrane under liquid pressure. When pressure is reduced the membrane will close and prevent the entrance of air into the container. To avoid a deformation of the membrane in counter dispensing direction a supporting column is arranged within the valve ending in a distance from the lower side of the membrane. This column will prevent an opening of the membrane closure head towards the container storage room when air pressure in direction into the container is too high to be borne by the membrane closure head alone.

  • Patent number: 5702013
Abstract: A dynamic virtual hinge closure used for controlled, reliable, and measured dispensing of a variety of substances with extensive monitoring, child-resistance and senior-friendly features. A hook dynamically engages with a slot to create a virtual hinge each time the closure is opened. The hook dynamically disengages with the slot each time the closure is closed. Monitoring is accomplished by markers position on the outer surface of the container or lid. The closure may be opened in several ways, according to the users preference or ability. The monitoring may be for dispensing of food such as spices (i.e, pour, shake, spoon), for dispensing of drugs (1st, 2nd, 3rd dose). The internal structure insures that the lid shifts into a locked, child-resistant position when closed and also that the lid is opened exactly once at each marker position. The lid is made of only one piece and requires no assembly.

  • Patent number: 5358130
Abstract: A one-piece closure for dispensing product from a container has a cap secured to the container and a lid connected to the cap by a support arm through an integrally molded hinge. The support arm is pivoted by the hinge between a pair of upstanding projections on the end wall of the cap. Ribs projecting laterally from the support arm engage the projections to maintain the lid opened when the container is inverted to dispense product. When the lid is pushed closed, the ribs deform to allow the support arm to pass between the projections. In one embodiment, side edges of the ribs engage upwardly facing cylindrical camming surfaces on the projections. In another embodiment, the outer surfaces of the ribs engage confronting flat surfaces on the two projections. In the closed position of the lid, the ribs in both embodiments are received in recesses in the projections so that they do not become permanently deformed and loose their effectiveness over time.
