  • Patent number: 5293813
Abstract: A cooling vessel has a container with an outwardly bent rim and a lid which can be set on the container, as well as a closure device with at least one closure element arranged on the lid, preferably in the region of a rim of the lid. The closure element can swivel about a swivelling axis approximately parallel to an outer edge or to tangent to the outer edge of a rim of the container from an open position which releases the lid from the container into a locking position in which the closure element grips under the container rim, thus forming a pressure-tight seal between the lid and the container. The closure element is designed as a hollow body with an essentially cylindrical or prismatic wall essentially parallel to the direction of the swivelling axis. The wall extends over only a part of the periphery of the hollow body and has a locking wall section which can be pivoted from an open position into a closing position. The closure element rests on a shaped body.

  • Patent number: 5201157
Abstract: A pole top cover assembly includes a generally flat cover plate adapted to overlie an open top end of a tubular hollow pole, an elongated arcuate-shaped bracket formed of yieldably resilient, semi-rigid, semi-flexible deformable material and being disposable along one side of the cover plate, and an elongated fastener rotatably mounted through both an aperture in the cover plate and a hole in the bracket and having external threads threadably engaged with portions of the plate and bracket which form the respective aperture and hole thereof. Rotation of the fastener in one direction relative to the cover plate and bracket causes the arcuate-shaped bracket to engage the plate and to deform and draw toward the one side of the cover plate and thereby expand in length and forcibly engage at opposite ends with portions of an interior surface of the hollow tubular pole so as to retain the cover plate on the pole top end.

  • Patent number: 4944923
Abstract: An autoclave useful for pressure digestion of samples for chemical analysis, consisting of a closeable vessel containing the sample, which during operation sustains elevated temperatures and pressures. The autoclave has a PTFE (Teflon) beaker and lid, in direct contact with each other thus forming a tight seal with an excess-pressure release mechanism. The assembled vessel is held in a device that presses the sealing surfaces of the beaker and lid together, through pressure on a metallic lid support disc. The sealing surfaces of the beaker and lid are free-standing, which permits a direct release of excess-pressure and necessitates an extended clamping device for the lid support disc, which is fixed at a single point.
