The top unit may have a first opening and a second opening wherein the first opening and the second opening receive a portion of the compression tabs when the top unit is locked to the bottom unit.

Abstract: An example lid assembly can include a lid and a slider. The lid can include a wall defining a recess. The slider can be configured to slide in the recess and can be configured to move between a closed position where the slider covers the opening to aid in preventing spilling of contents of the container, and an opened position where the slider uncovers the opening such that the contents may be poured from the container. The slider can be configured to be removable from the lid and can be replaced back on the lid. Additionally, the slider can be formed from upper and lower sled elements that are magnetically coupled to one another.

Abstract: A hopper lid for a hopper having a top opening may include a top panel, side channels formed on sides of the hopper lid and configured to engage side ridges of the hopper for the hopper lid to slide over the top opening, a front stop formed on a front of the hopper lid and configured to engage a front ridge of the hopper to stop the hopper lid from further sliding rearward when the top panel fully covers the top opening, and an undulation formed on the hopper lid protruding vertically lower than the top panel and adjacent the front stop to, together with the front stop form a detent that, when the top panel fully covers the top opening, traps the front ridge of the hopper between the front stop and the undulation to resist slide of the hopper lid, effectively locking the hopper lid to the hopper.

Abstract: A scent absorber/dispenser is disclosed. The scent dispenser/absorber has a housing having a base and a cover that cooperate to form an interior chamber of the housing. The dispenser can take the form of an individual dispenser/absorber housing, or a dual dispenser absorber made of two housings are arranged in piggyback (i.e., back-to-back) fashion. The interior chamber of each scent dispenser/absorber is configured to receive scent means adapted to perform either a scent-absorbing function or a scent-emitting function. To use the scent dispenser/absorber, the cover of one or more housings can be moved away from its respective base to expose diffusion ports in a sidewall of the base, thereby permitting desirable scents to flow from the corresponding scent means of the one or more housings to the surrounding environment, or undesirable odors in the surrounding environment to flow into the aforesaid scent means.

The access door includes a hinge portion connected with a first side wall of the housing and is pivotable about the hinge portion between closed and open positions. When the access door is in the closed position, the hinge portion of the access door is slideable for sliding movement of the access door between a latching position in which a first latch portion of the access door engages a corresponding second latch portion of the housing to secure the access door in the closed position, and a release position in which the first interlock portion disengages from the second interlock portion to permit pivoting movement of the access door from the closed position to the open position. The access door further comprises at least one locking feature configured to secure the closed access door in the latching position.

Abstract: A blister pack and method for packaging an item in the blister pack includes a blister card and a blister retained on the card and defines a compartment for retaining the at least one item therein. The blister is slidable relative to the card between a closed position in which the at least one item is inaccessible and an opened position in which the at least one item is accessible for removal from the blister pack.

Abstract: A hingeless door system for a pressure vessel; especially, aeronautic and astronautic crafts. The door system has the following major components: a contour in a pressure vessel wall, a doorway opening, a seal, an upper track, a lower track and a door. The door translocates laterally along the tracks from an open position to a closed position and moves radially along the tracks to a sealed position against the contour which closes the door opening. The problem solved by the invention is to reduce weight, operational volume and complexity and increase durability of a door system for a pressure vessel.

Abstract: Child-resistant bulk dose dispensing packaging unit, and a method for opening the packaging unit, including a container and a lid engaged with the container. The container includes a reservoir, an aperture at a top end of the reservoir, and a protrusion extending from a surface of the container. The lid engages with the container and slides between a closed position and an open position. The lid includes a top wall, a side wall extending down from an outer edge of the top wall, and a post configured to engage the protrusion at a first position when the lid is closed so as to keep the lid closed. At least a portion of the post extends substantially parallel to the side wall at a distance from the side wall. Pressing the side wall inward places the post at a second position, wherein at the second position the post is disengaged from the protrusion.

Abstract: A two-piece box convertible into a one-piece box, having a main box body and a lid for covering the top opening of the box, having a skirt around the periphery of the lid, a panel of the skirt having a pivoting hinge connection to the lid, and having at least one attachable portion on the inner surface of the panel for fixing the panel to the top of one of the side panels of the box. The box can also include a corrugated, strengthening insert to strengthen the side panels of the box for resisting deformation and collapse under weight loads. The box can also include concealable zones for information positioned adjacent to the top edge of the side panels of the main box for receive readable information.

Abstract: The present invention is a collapsible cover used to protect an open beverage container from tampering. It is compact and easy to carry and use, is attractive and may be decorated with sports team logos or University symbols or other works of art. It has deep enough extended side walls to prevent someone from unobtrusively removing it to contaminate the beverage and is not too cumbersome to carry in a purse or pocket. The collapsible cover is available in different diameters to allow covering beer or soda cans, bottles, mixed drink glasses or wine glasses. It also has an opening for inserting a straw so that the cover does not have to be removed to consume the beverage.

It is compact and easy to carry and use, is attractive and may be decorated with sports team logos or University symbols or other works of art. The container base has a bottom, front and back ends, and a pair of sidewalls that define a storage area. The container lid is slideably disposed on the plastic container base and includes a cover portion that encloses the storage area when the plastic container is in a closed position. The pair of first tracks are included one on each of the sidewalls. The pair of second tracks depend downwardly from opposing sides of the cover portion and slideably engage the pair of first tracks. As such, the container lid is slideable from the closed position to an open position to form a dispensing opening between the front end of the container base and a forward edge of the cover portion.

The reinforcement portion has an array of sliding members and an array of hard, rigid reinforcement inserts. Free ends of each of the reinforcement inserts are located in the tracks. The sliding members are disposed on each of the reinforcement inserts to isolate the reinforcement inserts from contacting the tracks.

Abstract: A storage bin comprises a cover panel and a scoop. The cover panel may be slidably or rotatably moved to expose the interior of the storage bin. The scoop is stored internally in the storage bin and is exposed when the cover panel is open. The design of the cover panel provides advantages to consumers by providing a durable and versatile method of access to the contents of the storage bin. The storage of the scoop within the storage bin limits contamination of the scoop during storage and provides easy access to the scoop when the cover panel is open. Abstract: The present invention provides a shipping container, a paper tube, an end cap and a method. The shipping container includes a tube and an end cap. The tube has a cylindrical body and an open end. The cylindrical body has a mounting opening formed therein adjacent to the open end. The end cap includes a circular sidewall that is adapted to be received by the open end of the tube such that the circular sidewall radially surrounds the cylindrical body. The circular sidewall includes a projection that extends away from the circular sidewall and into the mounting opening so as to releasably secure the end cap to the tube.

Abstract: Dispensers for viscous fluids are shown. Also, various caps that can be used on such dispensers are shown. In one embodiment, the dispenser has creases along the side of the dispenser. The creases permit the side to fold inwardly as a viscous fluid is dispensed from the dispenser. In another embodiment, a cap for a dispenser is shown. The cap comprises a base and a lid, which are slidably coupled to each other.

A pair of rolled rails depend from the top portion, are spaced by a sufficient distance to accept a container on which the lid is to slide, and the rolls are such that the raw metal edge is shielded within the roll. The non-rolled portions of the container, particularly the front edge which can be engaged by the fingers, is formed into a tight safety hemmed edge.

Abstract: A storage box including a body, a lid and an arm member. The body is provided with a storage portion and a guide portion. The lid is provided with a sliding portion engaged with and directed by the guide portion. The arm member is held rotatably by the body at a first end thereof, and is held rotatably by the lid at a second end thereof. This construction accommodates various loads or forces applied to the lid during opening and closing, thereby decreasing overall strain upon the storage box and eliminating the need to reinforce the body, the lid and the arm member. The result is a functionally simplified yet strengthened storage box capable of being manufactured at reduced costs.

Abstract: A box includes a box body and a cover that is mounted slidably on an open distal end of the box body and that is formed with a pair of slits and an elastic arm between the slits. The elastic arm has a free end with a hook that is elastically engageable with the open distal end of the box body so that disengagement of the hook from the open distal end of the box body can be performed using only one hand.

Abstract: A metal finishing barrel side opening has a cover secured by a series of cover and barrel tabs, the cover slid into a secured position with the cover tabs partially overlain by the barrel tabs. A locking handle assembly includes a graspable portion supported on a deflectable spring blade attached to the cover at one end which allows the handle assembly to move away from an aligned locator feature on the barrel as the cover is pushed into position. When the cover is shifted lengthwise, the handle assembly moves past the locking feature, and the locking blade pushes the handle assembly back down alongside the locking feature which then prevents reverse sliding of the cover back from under the barrel tabs. When the handle is pulled to initiate removal of the cover, the handle assembly is then moved out above the locking feature to enable the cover to be slid to the released position. An automation apparatus interacts with one form of the locking assembly to automatically install and remove the cover.

Abstract: A captivated slidable access cover incorporates an integral cantilevered spring to prevent undesired movement resulting from gravitational forces or vibration. The cover has two generally parallel, opposed edges which are slidingly captivated in opposed tracks of the enclosure. The integrally formed cantilevered spring is located adjacent one end of the cover and biases the cover to be in one of a positively open position or a positively closed position. The cantilevered spring presses against a portion of the enclosure at or adjacent one end of the access opening defined in the enclosure. The biased interaction between the cantilevered spring and the enclosure ensures a positive open or closed position of the cover. The cover also includes a handle at its other end for slidably opening and closing the cover.

Abstract: A two-piece container for mints or similar tablet type contents in which base and cover elements are arranged for relative sliding movement in opened and closed condition and are of curvate configuration so as to approximately conform to the figure of a user when the device is disposed in a side pocket of a jacket or similar garment. The cover element is configured such that the upper surface and the lower surface of the base element are exposed for contact between the thumb and fingers of a user, thus permitting the opening and closing of the container using the thumb and fingers of a single hand.

The guide and the container are thermoformed as a unitary piece, and/or the container and the tambour closure are made as a unitary pieces. Preferably, the package is molded from a single sheet of material. The package is at least two colors. Opposites sides of the sheet may be different colors so that the external surface is one color and the internal surface another. Also, different portions of the sheet may be different colors so that one portion of the package is a first color and another portion is another color.

Abstract: A container for storage of items during watersports is described, having a base (10) affixed to the watersports equipment such as a surfboard or diver's gas tank and a body forming a waterproof enclosure detachably secured to the base. The top cover (14) of the body has tabs (44) which are retained under projections (22) of the base such that the bottom tray (12) and top cover of the body cannot be unsealed without disengaging the body from the base. The top surface (40) of the cover forms a ramp engageable by the foot of the surf rider and may have grip material attached thereto.

Abstract: Known covers, for example for receptacles in automobiles, have drawbacks in that they require several components in addition to the depositing receptacle and/or require additional reception space clearly exceeding the dimensions of the deposition receptacle for opening, and/or cannot be installed if only limited installation space is available in the depth or width direction, and/or the cover does not present sufficient sturdiness during use.

Abstract: A trash can with a sliding lid that rides in tracks facing inwardly on sides of the trash can body from an open position along a back wall of the trash can to cover and close the top of the trash can. Stops are provided for limiting the closing movement of the lid. A latching mechanism is provided for holding the lid in a closed position.

Abstract: The present invention provides an improved system and method for carrying and securing the lid of a container, such as a surgical sterilization tray. A tray is provided with rotating wire bail handles and at least two studs. The cover for the tray has a keyway and cutout which can be engaged with the studs when the lid is placed onto the case. Inadvertent disengagement of the keyway or cutout from the studs is prevented by the interaction of the handles with the lid. The lid is provided with slots and end panels which become mechanically associated with the handles when the handles are rotated to any of a variety of lid-securing positions. The association of the handles with the lid prevents any relative sliding motion of the lid and case which would allow disengagement of the keyway or cutout and the studs, until the handles are rotated to any of a variety of non-lid-securing positions. The system combines the handle and lid-securing functions in a very low part-count design with very few moving parts.

Abstract: A container which can be held and opened by one hand has a dome-shaped cap formed by a series of adjacent, contiguous and ogee-shaped segments resiliently held together by an elastic ring. For a compact construction of the container and a simplified installation mounting, the closing part comprises a guide plate, which rests inside the box opening and covers it partially, and a sliding lid which can be displaced in parallel thereto. On its transverse edge, which extends transversely to the sliding direction of the sliding lid, the guide plate is swivellably held on the upper edge of the box and is prestressed by a spring in a swivelling direction pointing away from the box bottom. The sliding lid is, on one side, guided in the sliding direction and with play in each transverse direction thereto on the guide plate and, on the other side, is guided via a connecting link guide on the box.

Abstract: A container for the mailing and transport of objects, suited in particular to being closed with a seal, comprising a rigid, box-shaped body (1) opening at the top with a flanged edge (4) on which a cover slidingly engages up to a position of snapping shut. In said position, a first and a second hole (5, 15) formed respectively on the edge (4a) of the container (1) and on a side (14) of the cover (12) become aligned. Separation of the cover (12) from the container (1) is prevented by a sealed string or other equivalent means which ties the cover to the body by passing through the aligned holes (5, 15).

Abstract: Disclosed is the combination of a steam table pan for keeping food warm and a cover for lifting and carrying the pan. The pan is of the type including a container portion, a pair of side edges and a pair of end edges. All of the edges protrude away from the container portion and one of the end edges includes a downwardly-turned lip. The cover has a pair of side channels, each for engaging a respective side edge of the pan, and each side channel includes an upper member, an edge panel extending downwardly from the upper member, and a lip extending inwardly from the edge panel. The upper member and the lip of each of the side channels are spaced apart by a first dimension. In the improvement, the cover includes an end channel having an upper component, an end panel extending downwardly from the upper component, a ledge extending inwardly from the end panel and a stop extending upwardly from the ledge.

Abstract: A dispensing container, such as a double-barrel cartridge used in dispensing dental material, matingly receives a sliding cap that maintains a seal between material in the barrels and the atmosphere. The cap includes a body and a gasket within the body, and the cap also includes a cam portion that shifts the body slightly away from an outlet of the container as the cap is moved toward a closed position to seal the container. Once the cap is in a fully closed position, the cam portion enables the body to shift somewhat closer to the container outlet in order to increase the compression of the gasket between the body and the outlet. Optionally, an orienting section is provided for insuring that the cap is coupled to the container in only one certain orientation, so that the likelihood of cross-contamination of material within the barrels due to residual material on the gasket is substantially reduced.

Abstract: A food bin assembly comprising a bin, a rear lid member, and a front lid member. The bin has a bottom and a plurality of walls extending up from the bottom. The walls have upper ends defining a bin opening. One of the walls is a first side wall and another of the walls is a second side wall opposite the first side wall. The rear lid member is configured for covering a rear portion of the bin opening. The front lid member is configured for covering a forward portion of the bin opening. The front lid member is slidably connected to the first and second side walls of the bin for longitudinal sliding movement of the front lid member relative to the bin between a forward position in which the front lid member is positioned over the forward portion of the bin opening and a rearward position in which the front lid member is positioned over the rear portion of the bin opening.

Abstract: A carrying cover for a food pan includes a pair of side channels generally parallel to one another and first and second cover ends generally parallel to one another and generally normal to the side channels. The cover handle is positioned closer to the first end than to the second end. When the two cover side channels and the cover end channel are engaged with respective edges of a steam table pan for pan carrying, the cover handle is "off center" with respect to the pan center of gravity. The force of gravity urges the pan toward the cover end channel which prevents the pan from sliding out of the cover.

Abstract: A waste container having a top with a slidable closure. The top has an access aperture and the closure is positioned to slide between opened and closed positions. The closure can be temporarily retained in a first closed position over the aperture, and can be permanently retained in a second closed position over the aperture. Means is also provided for retaining the closure at partially closed orientations across the aperture.

Abstract: A slide lid for a seed box of a row crop planter has a top wall joined to downwardly directed side and end flanges which cooperate with outwardly directed lips on the box to retain the slide lid on the box and allow the slide lid to be moved generally horizontally to open and closed positions.

Abstract: A bottom open display case for jacketed cassettes wherein the jacket is retained in the display case which itself is of transparent plastics material. A base is attached to the bottom end of the display case and is slidable laterally from a closed position to an open position where an opening in the base aligns itself with the cassette in the display case allowing the cassette to be removed from the display case. A flexible tab on an end wall of the display case acts as a spring to return the base to its initial closed position where it is out of alignment with the cassette in the display case.
