  • Patent number: 9889490
Abstract: The profile shape of the vessel body and of handle portion is formed from a single sheet of metal to create a flat by cutting, stamping or blanking. An opening is created in the handle portion to reduce heat propagation. The shape of the pan body is formed by spinning with the flat handle portion. The handle is formed by creating three-dimensional contours in the handle portion of the blank. The neck portion has a flat section adjacent the pan body followed by sections of different curvature. One section of the neck portion has a deeply curved cross-section. That neck portion transitions to the hand grip portion which has a reduced curvature, particularly toward the unattached end of the handle. The neck portion may have a “W” cross sectional shape. The handle grip portion may have a “U” shaped cross-section for comfort.

  • Patent number: 9597992
Abstract: A vehicle center console holder for a vehicle that temporarily holds and continuously adjusts the orientation of a beverage container filled with a consumable liquid that prevents spills and allows easy removal and placement into the holder as the vehicle is moving. The holder includes a base with an upper hole with a smooth perimeter edge and a suspended beverage container vessel that fits into the upper hole and rests against the perimeter edge. The container vessel includes a downward extending, half-spherical upper member and a lower neck. Formed inside the container vessel is a center bore that receives a complimentary shaped beverage container. The upper member and the perimeter edge on the base are configured to form a gripping space between the beverage container and the upper member. When the vessel's lower neck is placed inside the upper hole, the base's perimeter edge simultaneously supports the upper member and allows the vessel to swivel freely when a beverage container is placed in the vessel.

  • Patent number: 8770434
Abstract: A self righting floating insulating beverage container consists of a double walled beverage container which is adequately buoyant and balanced to remain upright in a body of water. The adequate buoyancy and balanced is achieved by the buoyant forces available from an annular cavity created by the double wall container configuration and the balance by the non-buoyant or ballasted bottom of the container. The double wall annular space and ballasted weight are determined to maintain the drink container upright in a body of water, without sinking when filled with beverage, and not capsizing when empty. • Patent number: 7156255
Abstract: A self-righting sipper cup includes an inner cup member positioned in an interior space defined by an outer cup member. The inner cup's bottom defines an outlet port. A channel connects the outlet port to a drinking slot surrounded by a drinking spout. The inner cup receives liquid, and a float rests atop the liquid. A lid attaches. A child lifts the cup by handles and drinks traditionally through the spout or sucks on the spout in either an upright or horizontal position. The float descends as liquid leaves the interior cup. If the cup drops or tips, liquid stays at the bottom of the interior cup and in the channel due to the float and a valve inside the channel. The shapes of the rounded base portion and handles, a ballast's weight, and the liquid's location bias the cup to the upright position.

Abstract: A vacuum-insulated container for transporting and dispensing beverages or food products has a stainless steel vacuum-insulated liner surrounded by a body. The body includes several cylindrical sections attached together. Expanding foam is sprayed between the liner and the body, and the expanded foam helps to prevent the cylindrical sections from detaching. A weight is placed between the body and the liner for adjusting a center of mass of the container. The center of mass is adjusted to be spaced radially away from a central longitudinal axis of the container, below a mid-plane of the container, and 180° away from a handle around the central longitudinal axis. Thus, if the container falls into water or tips on its side, it will come to rest in a position with the handle standing substantially upright. The handle can fold flush with the container and can extend away from the container for grasping. A locking means is provided to releasably lock the handle in the extended position.

  • Patent number: 6168034
Abstract: A self righting bottle or combination bottle and holder that prevents leakages otherwise resulting in drips, spills, and stains on floors, floor coverings and carpets, particularly permanent stains on various floor coverings. Preferably, it keeps the nipple clean by avoiding such leakages for prolonged periods, thereby preventing nipple contamination by other substances proximate to the nipple end of the bottle. The self righting bottle includes a container with at least one sidewall, a weighted bottom having an outwardly facing convex surface, the bottom having a center of mass situated so that, in cooperation with the convex surface, the bottle self rights itself into an upright position from a prone position after being tipped on a level surface into the prone position. The self righting bottle may be configured or molded as a clown, cartoon or face character.

  • Patent number: 6024244
Abstract: A convex shaped apparatus transversed with a flat base at the bottom, sized and shaped to be fixedly attached to the base of a standard container. The apparatus may either be hollow (with the top open) to act together with the standard container to hold the contents or separately fixedly attached to the bottom of the standard container. The weight of the apparatus is sufficient to lower the center of gravity of the combined apparatus and standard container no matter whether the container is full, partially full or empty. The convex shaped surface of the apparatus, above the flat base of the apparatus, insures that the container is unstable when left unattended. In the event that the container fills with liquid such as rain water, it wall tip on its side if a curious child investigates and tries to get in the container. The tipping container allows the liquid to spill out rendering the container harmnless to a child and prevents the drowning of the child.
