  • Patent number: 7195130
Abstract: Drinking cup lids are especially adapted and configured to afford some measure of protection to the game piece from beverage seepage through a straw opening. Preferably, the cup lid is configured so that a game piece is spaced above the straw opening co-located within a recessed well of the lid thereby allowing beverage seepage to remain physically separated from the game piece. Access to the beverage within the cup is facilitated by providing a cross-cut straw aperture in the game piece which is in substantial alignment to the straw opening formed in the lid. A beveled segment of a raised plateau on which the game piece is affixed allows a tab associated with the game piece to be more easily grasped and removed by a customer to reveal the printed text/indicia of the game piece.

The second end of the cup portion is large enough to permit a user to drink from the cup portion through the second end thereof when a lid on the second end of the cup portion has been removed to expose a beverage contained in the cup portion. A mouthpiece is attached by a reduced diameter neck to the first end of the cup portion. An opening in the mouthpiece is normally closed by a removable stopper. When the cup portion is empty of the beverage, the user can then remove the stopper. The user can then blow through the mouthpiece to create a tonal sound similar to that provided by a horn. The combined drinking cup and horn could be sold at sporting events or the like for use at the event.

Abstract: A tubular element for drawing liquid from a container is shown including a first end designed to be connected to a source of vacuum and a second end designed to be immersed in the liquid to be drawn. The tubular element is designed to pass through an orifice or an inlet conduit, made from an elastically extendable materia. The cross section of the tubular element is sized to be contiguous with the edge of the orifice or with the wall of the conduit. The tubular element also includes an annular bulge with a truncated cone shaped surface which includes a small base, which is directed towards the second end and has a diameter substantially equal to the external diameter of the said tubular element and which also includes a large base which with the external surface of the tubular element, defines a bearing surface and serves as an end stop with the conduit wall or the aperture of said container.

Abstract: A feeding cup for infants has a main reservoir communicating through a channel to a feeding spout. Breast milk placed in the reservoir enters the spout via the channel when the cup is tilted or when the sidewalls of the reservoir are compressed to create a pumping action. The reservoir is curved to fit a user's hand and has sidewalls that are thicker than the walls of the channel. The spout is designed to allow drop-by-drop dispensing of the breast milk.

  • Patent number: 6364168
Abstract: A personal hydration system with an improved mouthpiece for use in providing fluid for delivery to a user. The mouthpiece includes a neck that is adapted to be mounted on a supply tube to a hydration system and which is joined to a resilient head. The head includes a dispensing face with a pair of lips that define a normally closed slit, through which fluid is dispensed from the mouthpiece, a perimeter and a minimum dimension between opposed points on the perimeter. The bite region extends from the perimeter to a shoulder, which joins the bite region and the neck. From a closed position, in which the lips extend against each other to close the slit and prevent fluid from being dispensed through the slit, the mouthpiece is deformable to a dispensing position in which the lips are spread at least partially away from each other to allow fluid to be dispensed through the lips.

Abstract: A leak-proof closure (10) for dispensing liquid from a container (12). The closure (10) contains a recessed channel (11) which forms an outlet passage (13) when the closure (10) is attached to the container (12). When the container (12) is overturned, the liquid will begin to flow into the outlet passage (13) at the fluid entrance (15). The displacement of the liquid from the container (12) will create a partial vacuum in the container (12). This partial vacuum will prevent the liquid from reaching the fluid exit (14), thus it will not leak. When the fluid exit (14) is inserted into the user's mouth and suction is applied, the liquid in the container (12) will flow into the fluid entrance (15), through the outlet passage (13), out of the fluid exit (14), and into the user's mouth.

  • Patent number: 6279772
Abstract: A flexible member is fabricated with four side walls forming a chamber which is coupled to a fluid source or reservoir on one side and has a slit through the end wall on the other side. The end wall is generally flat on its interior surface. Deformation of the side walls of the flexible member as by biting causes the end wall with the slit to deform and open the slit which otherwise is retained closed by the walls of the flexible member. This action establishes fluid dispensing from the source through the slit. The thickness of at least two of the side walls with respect to the slit containing end wall is greater than the end wall so that the pivoting hinge lines are established. Alternatively or in addition to the foregoing, a cut or groove into the interior of the end wall establishes a hinge line with cuts on either side of the slit thus establishing dual hinge lines.

  • Patent number: 6264058
Abstract: A container for dispensing a predetermined amount of liquid through a dispensing tube is disclosed. A valve is dimensioned to contain and dispense a predetermined about of liquid and dispense the liquid through a dispensing tube in contact with the valve. The liquid is in fluid contact with the inlet port when the base is in a first position and out of fluid contact with the inlet port when the base is in a second position. Thus, the valve fills with liquid when the container is in a substantially horizontal position while angling the container removes the liquid from contact with the valve and stops the fluid flow. Preferably the container has a sealable, watertight lid that receives the dispensing tube and incorporates vent holes to enable airflow into the container. The fluid inlet port can be placed in the side or top of the valve. The valve can alternatively be a tube with fluid and tube inlets in fluid communication.
