Abstract: A tool for depositing seed uniformly along a prepared furrow. The tool uses the rolling motion of a ground engaging wheel to drive a seed pickup and delivery mechanism. A pickup wheel which is coupled to the ground engaging wheel contacts the seeds via a slot in the seed container. A suction force created by an oscillating bellow is channeled to a pickup aperture in the circumference of the pickup wheel. Picked seed is carried by the pickup wheel to a guiding duct to be released and delivered to the soil. The tool also includes an electronic monitor that produces a short audible beep for every deposited seed.

Abstract: A candy dispensing system is provided comprising a housing in which is defined a chamber for receiving a plurality of candies. The chamber has a dispensing opening and an arm for urging candies in the chamber so that one candy is always located adjacent the dispensing opening. A second arm and a push rod are provided for dispensing candies through the dispensing opening. In one embodiment such a candy dispensing apparatus may be combined as part of a children's wrist watch.

Abstract: The invention relates to a tablet dispenser, including a dispenser housing, a replaceable tablet package to be accommodated in the housing, an adjustable periodicity indicator and a single tablet dispensing aperture in the dispenser cover. The tablet package includes a cover, rotatably connected to the bottom portion of the package and provided with an opening which, upon use of the dispenser, is in alignment with the tablet dispensing aperture. The dispenser further includes a locking device to compel joint rotational movement of periodicity indicator and package bottom portion, and an operating member to effect stepwise rotation of the package bottom portion relative to said package cover.

Abstract: A mountable beverage cooler and dispenser system comprising a housing with a vertically positioned cylindrical wall. The housing has a circular planar roof and floor, and a diameter which exceeds the height. The housing wall includes a generally rectangular large aperture. The large aperture also includes a small aperture which extends downward,toward the floor further than the majority of the large aperture. A generally rectangular shaped sliding door is contoured to follow the perimeter of the housing. The door is positioned between the tray discussed below and the wall of the housing so that it may be maneuvered to cover the large and small apertures. A generally cylindrically shaped tray consists of a circular planar floor with upstanding sidewalls forming a hollow central section therebetween. The height of the tray sidewalls is approximately the height of the housing sidewalls beneath the large aperture. The diameter of the tray and planar floor are slightly smaller than that of the housing.

Abstract: The spray container storage and retrieval system of the present invention encompasses both an apparatus and method enabling quick, safe retrieval of a spray container from a holster.In a first embodiment, a spray container with a forward trigger is stored in a specially designed sleeve having a special surface for securing the forward trigger from the discharge position. In a second embodiment, a flanged sleeve facilitates the springing displacement of a spray container having a safety flap over the discharge button and is intended to be used with a flap holster, and with a spray container which has no discharge button which can be utilized with a specialized structure on the sleeve. The third embodiment includes an open holster having an inwardly disposed locking groove which engages a pin collar fitted about the upper portion of a spray container, which can be re-used on subsequent spray containers by removing it from the used spray container and re-installing it on the new spray container.

Abstract: A dispenser for flexible sheets from a stack of adhesive coated sheets disposed one on top of another. The dispenser comprises a first housing portion including a bottom wall, end walls, side walls and a first top wall portion; and a second housing portion comprising a second top wall portion mounted on the first housing portion for movement between a normal position where the top wall portions define an outlet opening for the sheets between adjacent ends, and an open position with the second top wall portion spaced from the first wall portion to afford inserting a stack of sheets into the cavity. The dispenser includes attaching means adapted for releasably attaching the dispenser to several different retaining means including a strap by which the dispenser can be secured on a user's hand or wrist; a support member adapted to be held between user's fingers; a weighted base; or a base adapted to be attached to a surface by various means such as adhesive, suction cups or magnetic material.

Abstract: A low profile backpack system is provided which includes a mechanism for allowing free movement of the shoulder straps as the wearer moves, bends, twists from side to side, etc. The inventive mechanism comprises a buckle having a pair of transverse elongated slots. The buckle is fixed to the top of the pack by means of a single vertically oriented strap which passes through the lower of the two slots. A second strap passes through the upper slot and has its ends fixed to an end of each of two shoulder straps adapted to fit over the shoulders of the wearer. A further inventive feature is the provision of a quick release fire shelter on the pack which may be deployed by one hand. The shelter is stored in a rectangularly shaped pouch depending from the bottom of the pack. An open end of the pouch is selectively closed by a flap secured by Velcro fasteners. Pulling a release strap depending from the pouch first disengages the fasteners.

Abstract: Apparatus for controlling dissemination of garments. First and second rotatable cassettes are provided, one of which is used to store clean garments, the other of which serves as a depository for soiled garments. Each of the rotatable cassettes has an access door which permits access to a shelf segment of each cassette. A processor is provided which will generate first and second actuating signals for unlocking the doors of the cassette. An actuating signal is generated by the processor when a card reader recognizes a user access card, and determines tht the user's account status is in order. Each time a deposit is received, or a clean garment dispensed, the user's account status is brought up to date, reflecting the transaction. Thus, users who have not returned garments, and have too many account debits may not receive a new garment.

Abstract: A dispenser for flexible sheets from a stack of adhesive coated sheets disposed one on top of another. Abstract: A method for treating a tree comprises the steps of punching at least one hole in a trunk of a tree and injecting an individual chemical pellet directly into the at least one hole. The chemical pellet dissolves in and mixes with sap of the tree to treat the tree. A dispenser for injecting the pellets and a punch hammer for punching holes in the tree, both of which are used in the tree treating method, are also disclosed.

Abstract: A dispenser to be used with an air craft includes a body member, and a magazine accommodated in the body member. The magazine is provided with a feeding out opening at one end thereof and accommodates a number of packages arranged in a row extending from the feeding out opening throughout the magazine. The magazine includes a feeding out and separation device provided adjacent the feeding out opening for separating and feeding out a package in the row located closest to the feeding out opening of the magazine. The dispenser also includes air guiding member provided on the body member to guide an air stream in to the feeding out opening of the magazine in order to create a pressure differential at the feeding out opening acting to facilitate removal of packages, released by the feeding out and separation device, from the feeding out opening.

Abstract: A restraint kit includes a dispensing housing having a clip dispenser therewithin, wherein the dispensing housing is arranged for the selective dispensing of restraint web segments therefrom cooperative with one of a plurality of clip members dispensed from the clip dispenser housing. Abstract: A highway marker manipulating apparatus comprising a pair of gripper wheels spaced apart to engage and apply pressure onto the side edges of the base flange of a highway marker. The wheels are spaced apart by a loading magazine between the wheels and directing the marker flanges into gripped engagement with the gripping faces of the opposing wheels; and a guide panel between the outer portions of the wheels to guide the flanges of the markers being retrieved off the pavement. A stripper guide is provided between the wheels for urging the flanges of the markers toward the outer periphery of the wheels as the flanges are also engaging the peripherally extending guide panels as to turn the markers and move the markers along the stripper bars which carry the markers to the upper periphery of the wheels. Stabilizing guides or runners are provided to be removably mounted at the lower portion of the gripper wheels to receive the flanges of dispensed markers therebeneath for stabilizing the markers on the pavement.

Abstract: A pouch, preferably made of pliable and soft material such as a moisture proof or moisture repelling fabric, designed for holding and dispensing facial tissues from small pocket sized packages which pouch is removably attachable to a selectable location of the body of the person using the pouch, preferably an arm or leg and including a closable flap which when opened exposes the facial tissue for removal and use and which flap may additionally contain such items as licenses, passes, note pads and the like. In the preferred pouch there is also provided a pocket into which used facial tissues are placed which may be later removed for proper disposal. There may also be provided a pocket into which a lip balm or lip stick tube may be placed. The lip balm pocket is located preferably on the flap which may thus serve also as a place to grab in order to pull open the flap. The opening to the lip balm pocket is preferably elasticized so that the lip balm may be taken out and reinserted using one hand.

Abstract: An apparatus for transferring a deck washer from a storage magazine containing a stack of deck washers to a deck for installation. The transfer is accomplished by a reciprocating trolley which retrieves a washer from the stack and whose reciprocation urges the washer down a ramp on the trolley in to a holding chamber for installation.

Abstract: A tennis ball pack apparatus for dispensing balls in one mode of operation while positioned on a player's back and retrieving balls in another mode of operation upon removal from the back. An elongated housing which is strapped to the player's back includes two pairs of spaced walls which have different lengths to define predetermined openings adjacent to an oblong shaped bottom made up of flexible connected rod members. During the ball dispensing mode the player grips a ball through an opening and pulls against the flexible rod members to dispense the balls in seriatim. A U-shaped frame which is in slidable engagement with the walls of the housing is movable from a first position closely adjacent to the housing when operating in the ball dispensing mode while on the player's back to a second position extended from the housing when operating in a ball retrieving mode upon removal of the housing from the player's back.

Abstract: A seed meter for a row crop planter unit having a seed disc rotating in a vertical plane includes improvements for seating individual seeds in seed cells on the periphery of the seed disc as the seed disc rotates through the seed reservoir. The improvements also include a barrier brush for preventing seeds from entering the delivery tube directly from the reservoir, and a brush holder which limits the effective width of a peripheral retainer brush so that the retainer brush cannot retain two seeds simultaneously in the same seed cell.

Abstract: A container for carrying a uniform, fan-folded stack of plastic sheet assemblies and for allowing the assemblies to be conveniently dispensed, one at a time, with minimal risk that the stack will become jammed. The stack of assemblies is retained behind a constriction within an elongated chamber having a corresponding shape and slightly larger size. Pulling the forward-most assembly through a narrow channel and exit slot at the forward end of the container flexes a trailing assembly past the constriction, while the remaining assemblies remain retained behind the constriction. In addition, a shallow recess in a wall defining the narrow channel conformingly receives a plastic sheet assembly in position to be dispensed, with the recess' rear periphery inhibiting the assembly from being moved unintentionally back into the chamber.

Abstract: A cardboard stick gum dispenser comprises a rectangular-shaped container which has a slot formed on the lower part of its front panel. A paper sling extends from the upper part of the container's rear panel through the inside of the container to the slot. A free end of the sling extends from the slot and a stack of stick gum is supported on the sling inside the container. An individually wrapped stick of gum is drawn through the slot whenever the free end of the sling is pulled away from the container.

Abstract: A highway marker cone dispenser and collector is provided. A rotatable cone conveyor moves the cones between upper and lower locations, the lower location being near the ground, and has a cone stripper for removing cones from the conveyor at either the upper or lower location. The device may be vehicle mounted for simultaneous rotational and translational movement.

Abstract: A medication dispenser that includes a receptacle having a counting compartment with a first opening into the receptacle and a second opening through which the pills are dispensed. To be dispensed, the pills must passthrough the counting compartment and are counted during such passage. Both openings are blocked or unblocked by logic built into or remotely connected to the dispenser, which logic determines whether the pills in the compartment should be dispensed. In one embodiment of the dispenser, the pills are counted by sensing the amount of light that is passed through the compartment. The logic counts the pills by subtracting the amount of light transmitted through the compartment when it contains pills from the amount of light transmitted through an empty compartment and comparing the result to the known size of the pills. In an alternative embodiment, the pills are weighed in the counted compartment and the weight is compared to the known weight of a single pill.

Abstract: An agricultural implement such as a grain drill or similar seeding implement includes a plurality of transversely spaced seed meters having fluted feed wheels fixed to and transversely movable with a drive shaft which is controlled by an actuator to vary seeding rate in response to an indication provided by a sensor or sensors associated with one or more of the meters. An electronic controller includes a desired seeding rate input and provides an indication of the actual seeding rate. In one embodiment of the invention, an error signal indicative of the difference between the actual and desired seeding rates is utilized in a closed-loop system to move the shaft to automatically maintain the desired seeding rate. In a wider implement with more than one shaft, a switching circuit is utilized to permit a single control circuit to provide individual section seeding rates and to automatically operate the actuator associated with the given drive shaft in accordance with the error signal.

The containers may optionally include a removable lid providing a lip to contain seed within the containers. A transfer mechanism is employed to transfer a single shingle from the storage compartment to the placement compartment, and an attachment mechanism is employed to attach the single shingle held by the placement compartment to the roof surface.

Abstract: A ring with a plurality of hidden internal compartments for receiving articles includes an inner circular member and an outer circular member. The outer member defines a plurality of laterally separated, inwardly open compartments for receiving articles and an inwardly biased tab at least partially disposed in a predetermined one of the compartments. The inner circular member is concentrically mounted on the outer member for rotation relative thereto and defines a single aperture therethrough. The aperture is configured and dimensioned to at least partially receive the tab or to act as a passageway for articles into and out of a radially aligned one of the compartments, depending upon the relative rotational orientation of the inner and outer members.

Abstract: An apparatus for oriented application of a raised pavement marker to a roadway surface includes a reservoir of liquid adhesive; means for discharging a portion of liquid adhesive to form a deposit on the roadway, means for dispensing a raised pavement marker onto the top of the adhesive deposit; and means for aligning the marker at a desired orientation. The apparatus may also include a magazine for storing and sequentially delivering a plurality of raised pavement markers to the means for dispensing. The magazine has inclined walls which accommodate markers with rounded tops and prevent twisting or jamming of the markers.

Abstract: A medicine cart is set forth and a means and method of dispensing medicines including narcotics on nurse rounds is disclosed. The cart includes a CPU with memory and various input devices. The cart has a locked section to secure narcotics. As nurse rounds are made, individual doses of narcotics and medicines or both are dispensed. At the end of the medication round, hard copies reflecting individual patient medications are printed, and beginning and ending narcotics inventories for the cart are also compiled. Chart entries for patients are likewise printed.

Abstract: A device for positioning a plurality of generally elongate objects such as dominos on a flat surface in upstanding orientation and in evenly spaced relationship with each other includes an elongate structure for storing a plurality of dominos in face to face relationship with the dominos standing upright on the flat surface on which they will be positioned in spaced relationship as the device moves intermittently across the surface. A domino discharge mechanism is mounted in the storage means to discharge a domino therefrom each time the discharge mechanism is actuated. The device also includes a drive means for moving it across a flat surface in intermittent manner, and an actuating mechanism operable to actuate the discharge mechanism during intervals when the device is stationary.

Abstract: A dispenser for wiring accessories has an elongate plate-like configuration and comprises a baseplate from which projects a bar extending transversely across the baseplate to a width less than the width of the baseplate. A longitudinal groove in the bar parallel to the baseplate runs the full length of the bar. A lip faces the longitudinal edge of the bar into which the groove opens. The lip is parallel to and spaced from this longitudinal edge. The baseplate is extended at one end of the bar. A transverse cradle on this extension receives a wiring accessory and a longitudinal finger projects cantilever-fashion from the bar over the cradle and is spaced from the cradle to retain a wiring accessory in the cradle.

Abstract: A manual marker dispenser for road markers which is supported from a wheel mounted adhesive applicator which deposits small amounts of adhesive at selected spaced positions along a roadway. The dispenser has an upright cage member in which the markers are placed which typically has measurements of four inches by four inches by about three feet. The cage is open at the top and bottom and at the bottom there are two release cams spaced on opposite sides of the dispenser. The cams are essentially cylindrical in shape with about a quarter of the cylinder removed in a V-shaped pattern. Handle and linkage are provided to rotate the cams from a first position where the markers rest on the cam to a second position where the cut-away portion lets the markers drop out of the cage.

The dispenser includes a housing having a storage space for strips and a discharge passageway through which strips are dispensed. A ramp interconnects the storage space and passageway. A feed wheel having a peripheral gear feeds strips along the ramp. The feed wheel is actuated by a member operable from outside the housing. The actuating member shifts a drive pawl which engages the peripheral gear on the feed wheel. A cap is secured over the dispensing end of the housing and is held in place by a snap connection.

Abstract: An apparatus for dispensing markers for distribution in a terrain. The apatus is designed as an add-on unit for mounting on the rear of a self-propelled land vehicle.The markers are units of a foldable type comprising each a base plate and a visible marker member hingedly connected thereto and they are stacked in folded state inside one or more shafts of the apparatus. Near the bottom of each shaft there is provided a delivery gate and shears controllable from the vehicle for the sequential release of individual marker units.

Abstract: A powered seed dispenser for uniformly distributing seeds along the ground which includes a handle carrying a powered driven motor and a pivotally mounted seed distributor which is engaged and driven by the powered driven motor, the seed distributor being constructed of a pair of opposed discs, each disc having a pair of inner and outer sidewalls extending transversely therefrom toward its opposing disc, such discs being constructed and arranged to connect together telescopically in such manner as to create an inner metering chamber and an outer dispensing chamber wherein seeds contained inside the metering chamber discharge through openings in the inner sidewalls from the top portion of the volume of seeds, such seeds then falling into the dispensing chamber defined by the outer sidewalls where they are directed and discharged uniformly through dispensing apertures in the outer sidewalls at a point adjacent to the lowermost point of travel of the dispensing apertures.

Abstract: A tubular golf ball carrier of rigid plastic shaped like a sight gauge and normally carried in an upright manner retains golf balls within tubular carrier with sight opening. Reducing couplings are attached to the ends of the tubular section with sight opening. The bottom coupling has an aperture too small to pass a British golf ball. The top coupling has an aperture large enough to pass a U.S.G.A. golf ball. The top coupling retains a thin flexible annular ring between its inside upper wall and the upper rim of the tubular section. The flexible annular ring flexes to permit ball entry and withdrawal when a golf ball is pushed against it, but when relaxed it prevents a golf ball from rolling out of the carrier. The flexible annular ring is sized for either U.S.G.A. or British golf balls and is removable for use of the annular ring corresponding to the golf balls being played. The tubular carrier is attached to a golf club bag through holes with a rivet and/or other attaching means.

Abstract: In a manual sowing apparatus a cell wheel 132 is provided which is drivable by a wheel disk 116 directly or via a reduction gear and which conveys the grain seeds from a receiving chamber via pockets disposed in the wheel to a discharge station. A plurality of cell wheels are associated with each apparatus and can be fixed via a bayonet coupling on a support drum 72. Cell wheels which are not in use can be accommodated in a receiver 104. A resilient scraper is disposed at the discharge end of the receiving chamber and prevents jamming of the cell wheel by scraping off grains when they are too large or when there are too many in a pocket, while grains projecting a slight extent can pass beneath the scraper.

It comprises a tube into which a stack of golf balls can be loaded, a base at the bottom of the tube, a cap at the top of the tube, a resilient coil spring disposed for urging balls of the stack upwardly in the tube, a ball-accepting and dispensing side aperture near the top of the tube for retaining balls that are out of register with that aperture, and, in the cap, a finger access or a plunger for manually depressing the topmost ball of the stack into dispensing register with the side aperture. The side aperture includes a finger notch which extends downwardly toward the base of the dispenser a distance sufficient for exposing part of the exterior surface of the first two balls stacked under the topmost ball.

Abstract: A dispensing container for dispensing articles one at a time. The dispensing container includes a hollow body for storing articles. A delivery throat forming a continuous depending extension of the body has a cross section proximate the cross section of the articles disposed in the hollow body to serially align the articles passing therethrough from the hollow body. The throat is formed with an upturned end defining a lower trap portion adjacent the end which permits only one article at a time to be moved to the end of the throat. An outlet aperture is formed at the end of the throat. A closure member is mounted at the end of the throat for movement between a first position closing the outlet aperture and a second position opening the outlet aperture.

Abstract: The apparatus and technique enable a fisherman to store a batch of fish bait morsels on his body in such a way that when he needs one, he can isolate it from the batch and pluck it out of storage on the hook of his line, or between the thumb and one finger of his free hand. According to the technique, a support is formed on his body opposite the front thereof, and a device is pivotally mounted on the support which is adaptable to form an open-ended container for the morsels. Abstract: A distributor, particularly for medicaments, to be worn directly on the body, which has an annular portion such as a finger ring or a wrist bracelet, on the outer surface of which is arranged at least one compartment provided with an opening device fast to a retractable member designed to project towards the inner surface of the annular portion in the open position of the compartment. The retractable member is in contact with the skin in the open position of the compartment and acts to warn of this open position.

Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing one sheet at a time from a stack of sheets includes a hollow rectangular receptacle which receives and holds the stack and has an opening in the top wall to expose the top sheet of the stack and permit the top sheet to be removed through the opening. A lever is resiliently mounted on the receptacle adjacent the top wall and has a free end which normally extends over the opening in the top wall and which carries a pad of adhesive material on its underside. The free end of the lever may be pressed down manually to engage the pad with the top sheet of the stack and, when the free end is released, the lever returns to its normal position thereby lifting an end portion of the top sheet up through the opening where that sheet may be grasped and removed from the receptacle.
