  • Patent number: 5020719
Abstract: A dispensing container has a main body portion with opposing side, back and front and top and bottom walls. The lower portion of the front wall is rupturable and removable from the front wall to form an access opening to gain access to the interior of the main body. A slideable tray rests on the bottom wall and is slidably movable to an extended position where the tray is withdrawn through the access opening. The tray has front, bottom, back and sidewall panels. An abutment member carried by each sidewall panel is adapted to engage the inner surface of the front wall adjacent the access opening for preventing withdrawal of the tray completely from the main body. • Patent number: 4997105
Abstract: The present invention provides a device for storing a plurality of gloves and for individually dispensing the gloves. The invention allows a user to easily retrieve a single glove while the remaining gloves are shielded from contamination by the user and from the surrounding environment. The present invention includes a container having a dispensing aperture formed thereon. A plurality of gloves is disposed within the container. A shield is provided to cover the aperture when a glove is not being retrieved. A hinge, or other structure, is provided which allows a user to move the shield to an open position when retrieving a glove and which will return the shield to a closed position upon removal of the user's hand. The present invention has particular advantages in environments such as dental offices and other locations where contaminants may be present and where it is necessary to protect the stored gloves from such contaminants until a glove is dispensed.

  • Patent number: 4934535
Abstract: An easy open flexible bag containing one or more stacks of flexible articles maintained in a state of compression in a direction substantially parallel to their thickness. For products such as disposable absorbent baby diapers, catamenial pads, incontinent briefs and the like, the degree of compression within the bag may be as much as 50% or more when compared to the uncompressed thickness of the stack of articles in question. In a particularly preferred embodiment, the bag totally encloses the stack or stacks of compressed flexible articles exhibits a substantially rectilinear shape. The bag preferably includes an integral carrying handle. The end panels and at least one pair of either the front and back or the top and bottom panels of the bag are subject to tension imposed by the stack of compressed flexible articles. This leaves at least one pair of panels, preferably the top and bottom panels, in a substantially untensioned condition.

  • Patent number: 4616316
Abstract: A medication compliance monitoring system consisting of a blister pack having an array of plastic blisters defining compartments for medication, with a frangible non-conductive backing sheet having conductive traces behind the compartments which are respectively ruptured when the medication doses are removed. The blister pack is detachably connected to an electronic memory circuit via a multi-terminal male connector tab on the backing sheet, wired to the conductive traces, and a corresponding female connector with terminals wired to the electronic memory circuit. The electronic memory circuit addresses each individual trace periodically at a constant time interval over a predetermined extended period of time to determine if it is intact. The electronic memory circuit detects the ruptures and stores the time data thereof over said extended period of time.

  • Patent number: 4537330
Abstract: A dispenser for plastic bags comprises two side panels, top and bottom panels and a back panel forming a rigid container. A front panel is hingedly connected to the bottom panel for closing the container. The front panel is formed with a perforated pull-out in the mid to lower portion whereof to expose the interior of the container. A generally U-shaped hanger has a base lying outside the container near the top thereof to facilitate securing the container to an outside support and has a pair of arms passing through and secured by the back and front panels near the respective tops thereof. The arms are adapted to pass through holes formed in the bindings of pads of plastic bags to support the pads within the container. When the pads of bags are thus supported within the container and the perforated pull-out is opened, the bags can be conveniently removed singly by users.

  • Patent number: 4139121
Abstract: A tamper-proof dispensing carton particularly suited for packaging of elongated articles is of generally rectangular configuration including a top panel having a central arcuate opening, with a strip extending diametrically across the opening to divide the opening into two segments, and with the strip being releasably connected to the top panel. Secured to the inside surface of the top panel and extending across the arcuate opening is a covering formed by two sections which overlap along a seam disposed immediately below the diametrically extending strip. By this arrangement, the dispensing carton may be displayed on a shelf without requiring an additional outer wrapping, and the consumer may readily obtain access to the contents of the carton by merely removing the diametrically extending strip. The removable strip also functions to make the dispensing carton tamper-proof while on the store shelf.
