Container With Follower Patents (Class 222/386)
  • Patent number: 8162184
Abstract: An improved follower packing unit for a grease gun is disclosed. The unit includes a hollow annular body of elastomeric material having a front wall, an annular side wall and a rear wall defining a cavity in the body. Rigid front and back structural supports rigidly support the front and rear walls of the elastomeric seal. The elastomeric seal and the front and back structural supports are fastened together to prevent separation and to form a unitary follower structure movable as a unit on a follower rod. The annular side wall of the elastomeric seal is resiliently deformable under pressure in a radial direction for sealing tightly against an interior surface of the barrel of the grease gun or against the interior surface of a tubular cartridge loaded in the barrel of the gun.

Blood levels of analgesia peak at day-1 and are substantially complete by day-5 depending on the level of buprenorphine. These results demonstrate that post surgical implants provide clinically significant levels of analgesia in the 24-48 hour period following surgery and thus obviate the time consuming, expensive, and high-risk need to inject mice post surgery. The pellets are safe and easy to use. Placed in the surgical wound at the end of surgery, they provide 2-3 days of analgesia and obviate the need for subsequent handling of the animal for pain therapy. The implants have no detectable effect on mouse behavior, hematology, or liver chemistry.

A diconical or other shaped force transfer device is located in the material containment area. The force transfer device is an energy transducer when the material containment is filled with highly viscous materials, such as adhesives, sealants, mastics or lubricating greases. The force transfer device serves as an integral part of a level indicator for both viscous fluids and lower viscosity liquids. The viscous material itself forms a seal between the interface region of the force transfer device and the inside wall of the fluid vessel. Vertical stabilizing elements may extend outward from the force transfer device.

  • Patent number: 7976511
Abstract: A hand-held aspiration apparatus includes a handle configured for suspending and using the syringe with a single hand. The handle includes pivotally connected first and second members. The members of the handle may be pivotally connected at intermediate positions along the lengths thereof. The first member is associated with, and may be pivotally connected to, a syringe barrel, while the second member is associated with, and may be pivotally connected to, a syringe plunger. The members are configured and associated with one another in such a way that movement of portions thereof toward each other moves the plunger proximally through the barrel, which may create a vacuum in the barrel that may facilitate aspiration, and that movement of portions of the members away from one another moves the plunger distally through the barrel. The aspiration apparatus may be configured for a single-use (i.e., it may be disposable). Applications of use and methods of using a hand-held syringe are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 7967169
Abstract: An improved device for dispensing toothpaste from a flexible tube using only manual pressure on the flexible tube. The device is formed to fit precisely the inner shape of the toothpaste tube and slides forward as the tube is manually squeezed from the outside. As the device moves toward the tube opening the toothpaste is expelled. Friction strips attached to the device on two sides come into contact with friction strips on the two interior sides of the toothpaste tube. As the device is propelled forward by manual pressure it is prevented from moving rearward toward the closed end of the toothpaste tube because of the friction strips. Thus as the tube is depressed and the toothpaste is expelled the flattened portion of the tube remains flattened and the tube is ready for the next use.
