  • Patent number: 11891231
Abstract: The controlled dosage dispensing valve is a device that may be placed atop an extraneous cylinder. It is an aim of the device to facilitate the metering and dosing chambers within a plurality of annular aperture and an upper portion of the intake channel respectively through a plurality of fuel apertures. To accomplish this, a spigot valve system, a dosing system, and a cap system are integrated onto a single apparatus that may be fitted over an external gas cylinder. Further, a return spring is disposed that may facilitate vertical reciprocating motion consequent to the consumption of fuel in the associative metering and dosing chambers. With an extraneous tool about the device that induces a downward vertical force on the valve spigot and the pressure of the fuel propagated by the extraneous fuel cylinder, the device achieves the reciprocating motion necessary to meter and dose the fuel.

  • Patent number: 8251056
Abstract: An inhaler is provided with a closure which may be moved between a closed and open position in order to cover and uncover a mouthpiece. The closure is associated with a revolvable element including a restricting member. Movement of the closure from the open position to the closed position causes the revolvable element to revolve around an axis X thereby placing the restricting member in a restricting position which restricts relative movement between a container unit and the housing such that unintentional actuation of the inhaler is prevented. The inhaler is useful, for example, in the treatment of asthma.

  • Patent number: 8047406
Abstract: A metered dispenser includes a housing including a reciprocable piston drive stem including an inlet opening at a first end thereof, a floating piston at a second end, and a passage between the first and second ends. An inlet valve is provided adjacent the first end for permitting entry of liquid product into the passage. A biased cocking mechanism is reciprocally disposed substantially within the housing. A biased loading mechanism is movable in a second generally opposite direction by the cocking mechanism, and is engageable with the piston drive stem to move the drive stem in the second direction. When the cocking mechanism is moved from an initial rest position toward the second direction, a series of operations allow the loading mechanism to project the drive stem in the first direction to dispense a metered dose of liquid product through a discharge orifice provided adjacent the second end.

  • Patent number: 7997458
Abstract: A metering valve (1) is provided for a pressurised container (14) containing a pharmaceutical formulation. The valve has a stem (2) with a central flange (11) and a hollow open end (19) with a side port (20). The stem slides in a body (3) having larger and smaller diameter portions, and being closed off by a seal (4) against which the flange (11) rests in an inoperative position. A second seal is located around the stem on the opposite side of the flange and trapped by a spring (6) which urges the stem into its inoperative position. When the stem is depressed, the inner seal (5) forms a sliding seal with the smaller diameter portion of the body to define a metering chamber (13) filled with the pharmaceutical. Continued depression opens the side hole (20) to allow the contents of the metering chamber to be dispensed.
